omeme tenten - Kuriimii Noroitte

A song I've discovered on YouTube a few days ago. Judging by the age of the YouTube channel, the band seems to be rather new.

I can recommend their other songs as well.

  • The new song is good, too! It seems that we can expect great songs from muque in the future.

    muque - my crush

I can't get this song out of my head. It's so catchy!

    SCANDAL - Fanfare

Music video of the song "Fanfare" from SCANDAL. It is on the new album "LUMINOUS" that is to be released on 2024-03-20 (tomorrow).

There is also an official YouTube playlist with all the songs from the new album.

My favorites of the new songs are so far 1:47 and LOOP.

    yonige - walk walk

New music video from yonige. This is my second favorite songs from the new "Empire" album.

Most of yonige's music videos are rather long. Skip to 1:36 for the music.

    Metabani - Arigatou

I like the chill atmosphere in that song with the first part only being with vocals and without instruments.

There are currently only four or five songs from them but they've announced the title of the first album a few days ago, so there are new songs coming. I'm curious and excited to hear what kind of songs the new album will bring.

IIRC, Metabani has won some kind of newcomer contest. The prize was a studio recording of one song.

  • I had preordered the limited edition of the new album and can recommend the included the concert. ;) The quality is equal to the Bluray of the previous album.

  • The song is awesome. Especially live.

Do you know "OVER"? I think you could like the song, too. YouTube: SCANDAL - OVER

    Brandy Senki - Musica

I found this song a few weeks ago on YouTube and I can't get it out of my head.

  • This is my favorite Hanabie. song.

    NECRY TALKIE - bloom

This is the MV of the opening song of the "Scott Pilgrim Takes Off" anime (which, by the way, I can totally recommend; it's awesome).

I really like the 2D "game visuals" in the MV. These are done in the same style as in the "Scott Pilgrim agains the World" movie.

    Hump Back - Linger

One of the heavier tracks from Hump Buck.

I generally like their faster paced (and heavier) songs.

Chilli Beans. - I like you

Music video of a new song from Chilli Beans. This song will be on the new album "Welcome to My Castle" that is to be released on 2023-12-13.

I like the relaxed atmosphere of the song.

  • I prefer digital books because of the following points:

    • There is a book price control in Germany, meaning that you can't get new physical books cheaper. This does not apply to digital books.
    • They take less physical space.
    • I can read them everywhere with either my Smartphone that I already have with me at all times or my tablet. I do not have to plan to read a book when I'm on the go.
    • I can quickly search for something in a reference book if I have it in digital form. This is not possible with physical books.

    Only downside:

    • I need to have a device when I want to read a digital book. And this needs to be charged. But this is rarely a problem.
  • Oh, no. I love bandcamp. I don't want it to go down the drain. :c

  • What's up with bandcamp?

  • Hey, no problem. Thank you for your impressions. I'm glad that there are a lot of songs that you like. :)

Though I have to say that the blatant pushing of their schoolgirl image in their earlier videos and concerts is a bit off-putting to me

This is my exact feeling. I like the mature SCANDAL more. And they worked hard to change their image. An example for this is the Koisuru universe MV.

  • You're welcome. I'm glad that I could help you :)

  • Thanks, I will check them out.

  • I'm fairly new to MikroTik and no expert either, but I don't think you need a second bridge. You can add your VLANs to the default bridge and handle internet access through firewall rules. Depending on your existing firewall logic, you may have to drop/reject all traffic from the IoT subnet to the internet and all other subnets. Make sure that you add the bridge also as a tagged interface to the VLAN! Else, the DHCP server and all services on the router can not reach the IoT subnet.

I would also recommend to segregate all traffic into different VLANs (WAN, LAN, IoT, ...). This makes it easy to manage firewall rules because you can then use either VLAN interfaces or interface lists containing multiple VLAN interfaces for similiar firewall rules. You can simply untag outgoing traffic on specific ports if you want and add a specific tag for incoming traffic.

I have a similiar setup running. Everything is separated into VLANs and these VLANs are configured on the default bridge. Routing/allowing and denying traffic to/from the internet is handled by firewall rules. And I have defined interface lists like NO_INTERNET_ACCESS, NO_LAN_ACCESS, etc. These lists are then used by the firewall rules. If you later want to add another VLAN that should not get access to the internet you can simply add it to the NO_INTERNET_ACCESS list and you do not have to alter your firewall rules for that specific VLAN.

Take this advice with a grain of salt. If possible, do not test this on your production network but on a separate, isolated router.

Silent Siren - Hachigatsu no yoru

Silent Siren announced that they will be back from hiatus (with a support drummer at first) at the end of the year. This led me to listen to their entire discography for the last few days. I can't wait for a new single or album.

  • You're right and that's why I love them. You can feel that they have fun when you go to a concert. And when they have fun, the crowd has fun too! It is quite more enjoyable when you are standing in the crowd knowing that the band members have as much fun as you.

SCANDAL are making songs that they like and not songs that may sell well. Also, they are exprimenting quite a bit. "Ai no shotai" from the latest album "Mirror" comes to mind. In that song they added a gospel choir which is something that I do not listen to every day. It is my favorite song from the album.

Plus the fact that they have a wide vararity of styles. Every album feels fresh. This surely comes with the downside that one may not like every single song. There may be songs that are more your cup of tea and songs that you do not like very much. But that's OK. Just listen to the songs that you like. (Honestly, there are SCANDAL songs that I can't seem to warm up to, no matter how hard I try. And one of them is a popular SCANDAL song. But eh, they have an impressive discography. There are so many songs that I like.)

Sorry for raving about my favorite band. 😅

What SCANDAL songs do you like so far?

  • Oh, Ok. I hope you get some time to relax with Japanese music. "26" is a really great song, I can understand that it left an impression on you.

I will also think about some songs with happy couples in the MVs for my next posts 😉

By the way, did you decide to order the album with the Bluray?

  • @[email protected] I'm sure you've already seen the new MV. What's your opinion? :)

    Kaneyorimasaru - Kimi ni sayonara

The MV for the new single Kimi ni sayonara was just released.

I like this kind of melancholic/slightly sad songs and I've been listening to this song on repeat for the past hour. It's really good :)

  • Thank you very much. I think I have a project for the weekend :)

  • Thanks. I will look into that.

  • I was in the same position two months ago and decided to go with the Prusa MK4 kit with the enclosure. So far I'm happy with my purchase. The deciding factor for me was lastly the loudness of the device because I wanted to use the printer in my apartment. Reviews said that the printer is relatively quiet and I can confirm that. If the door to my "printer room" is closed I'm not able to hear it.

    Some points about the MK4:

    Positives:

    • It prints very fast with the new Input Shaper firmware
    • I can control the printer via LAN and WiFi (or print directly from a USB drive)
    • Excellent print quality
    • Open Source and spare parts are avaiable for a long time

    Negatives:

    • Maintenance is complicated after installing the printer in the enclosure. You can only access the printer through the front door which makes reaching the sides of the printer difficult and removing the printer from the enclosure is not easy as well because you first have to disassemble the display unit.

I dont' have access to a Bambulab printer so I'm not able to compare both the Prusa MK4 and the Bambulab P1S. Nevertheless, I'm happy with my printer and can recommend it.

  • Cube 2: Sauerbraten seems to still be maintained. I haven't played it for a long time, though.

SCANDAL - Highlight no Naka de Bokura Zutto

The MV of the latest single from my favorite band just dropped.

Once again I'm thinking about how far they have come since the start. Their musical style has changed quite a bit over the years which may not be everybody's cup of tea but I really like them (the songs and the band 😛) and the new song is no exception.

I really like the mix of Rock and EDM in this song.

    CENT - Kesshin

"CENT" is CENT CHiHiRO CHiTTiii's solo project. She started it before the end of BiSH.

This is one of the more rock-like songs from her.

  • I like this song, too. IIRC this was an april fools joke at first.

HOTEI - Andromeda (feat. AiNA THE END)

One of the songs I'm currently listening to. The song and the music video feel more like a something from a musical. I quite like it. It makes me wish to be able to understand Japanese.

DeepL translates the video description as follows:

Tomoyasu Hotei's long-awaited latest work "GUITARHYTHM Ⅶ". In the 35 years since his solo debut "GUITARHYTHM" after the breakup of BOØWY, this is the seventh installment in the popular series that has impacted the scene by opening up an overwhelming world view.

Set in the year 2023, the first year of AI, the sound concept of this album is "Retro Future," reminiscent of 90s modern music, with a message of hope and warning for the future, and Hotei's guitar sings sharply and elongated throughout the entire album. The album has been highly acclaimed by many artists who should be called "guitarism children," and has been called the best work in the history of guitarism.

    Yabai T-Shirts Yasan - Kawa-E

One of the fun songs of Yabai T-Shirts Yasan. Here is the MV to the song and there is also a "Nisekoi" version (I believe that this song was one of the soundtracks of the Nisekoi live action movie; I've never seen it).

I remember reading an article in the Japan Times about this band after I discovered them back in 2018. Unfortunately, I'm currently unable to find it.

IIRC, they met at the university in Osaka and performed at a competiton where one of the critics said that they will never be successful because of their unsual lyrics. But now (2023) they are playing on all big rock festivals in Japan and have performed in the Osaka Jo-Hall (in 2021) and Nippon Budokan (this year).

Their lyrics are a bit unusal but fun. There are songs about bad Wi-Fi connections, different file formats and lots of Tank-Tops 😄

    the peggies - Hanabi

I like the melancholic feeling of this song.

Sometimes on hot summer days, I remember the opening scene with the railroad crossing and I get the desire to listen to this song again.

ONE OK ROCK - The Beginning

One of my favorite tracks from ONE OK ROCK.

There are also two live versions available on YouTube: Live from "EYE OF THE STORM" Japan tour and the concert which made me discover this song: "Mighty Long Fall at Yokohama Stadium"

    Marie Ueda - heartbreaker

I really like the combination of drums with the prominent piano in this song.

It's also amazing that she's able to sing those high notes.

    MOSHIMO - Denkousekka Jealousy

One of my favorites from MOSHIMO. There is also a faster paced song called Tsutta Sakana Ni Esa Yare whose MV references the last scene of this MV.
