  • The only problem that I have with that is when Y is inverted, but X is not. It's simple to wrap my head around "up actually means down", but to simultaneously have to think "left actually means left" is confusing.

  • I have definitely seen similar confused comments saying "My touchpad is broken! It works correctly when touching the right side, but the left side always scrolls in opposite direction!" Then once it gets explained that it is using a circular gesture, it is immediately understood, and they might even end up preferring that.

  • My large hands would probably be fine with a 'nearly 7" behemoth' if phones would just go back to a 9:16 aspect ratio. I may even be able to appreciate a more ereader-like aspect ratio like 2:3, 3:4, or 4:5. I have just been fed up by the unnecessarily tall phones of the past decade.

  • Same for me. I even take it a step further with new shows and don't start watching it at all until after the series has been completed/canceled. Once the full show is available to me, I am free to binge it at my own pace, without having to read other people's opinions between episodes/seasons to sour my experience.

  • That was a joke about root beer, but there were also root beer jokes earlier in season 3, "Facets"

  • Something similar to this concept is great for enterprise environments. Imagine an employee at home using a basic thin client that just connects to a "mainframe" of a server that exists on premises and is running an individual VM or whatever for each employee's thin client. That is already a widespread concept. But for a home PC, with that VM being run on the OS manufacturer's servers? No, I don't think anybody should want to pay for that.

  • Is that a typo, or is "Here me out" part of the joke?

  • The HandyWork keyboards look intriguing. What I would be very interested in would be to have a small touchpad in between the halves to use for small/quick pointer movements while typing. The main touchpad could still be the primary means of pointing/clicking/scrolling, but also having a second small touchpad in an even more ergonomic position would be neat for the occasional quick pointer adjustments that still happen during keyboard-intensive workflows.

  • Moreso, in the same way Uehara kissing Kirk was a problem at the time, it's not shown as a problem in the show

You might want to rewatch that scene. The entire point was that the evil aliens were telepathically controlling Kirk/Uhura and making them do things against their will.

  • At least for Star Trek, the non-canon stuff is hidden under the "Apocrypha" section at the bottom of each article. The Stargate wiki, on the other hand, has the non-canon junk right alongside everything else. It even displaces canon information in places. It goes so far as to insist that Michael's name is actually "Lastlight". There is no wiki page for "Michael". There is just "Lastlight": https://stargate.fandom.com/wiki/Lastlight
