  • Makes sense! I just think it shows how repressed Palestinians and muslim migrants are in Germany. They are many but they can’t do anything without mass organizing because of the extremely zionist ‘justice’ system.

  • I don’t want to discount anything you’re saying since I think you’re super right. But I have seen a few stickers in support of Palestine in Germany. Very different from where I live though where almost every corner of every street has either graffiti or stickers in support of Palestine.

  • Can you provide some backup on the claim that .ml denies anything happened to the Uygur population in China? I’m not trying to be annoying just genuinely curious. How does .ml have the ability to deny anything, do you mean its mods, admins or users?

I often see similar sentiment to yours but I genuinely have never encountered any example of this happening at all.

I think there is a world of difference between denying anything happened and saying that the US pays millions of dollars a year to spread misinformation about China which includes propaganda about the treatment of Uygurs.

The latter does not mean that every story about Uygurs in China is a lie, but it means that we should be extremely careful about what news about China we repeat, and that we should always look for proof to claims that are made by NED funded news agencies.

  • I don’t really feel cringe about my previous positions. They were based on the education I had at that time which was liberal indoctrination, and I don’t fault myself for it and am happy I learned more.

There are so many things still unclear to me, I don’t know my political ideology and there are some parts about the organizing I do that I’m unsure of. But I keep doing it to the best of my ability because committed organizers are rare and doing something while making mistakes and learning from them is better than doing nothing.

In my opinion the best way to learn is by putting theory to practice because then you start to notice the gaps in the theory you read and know what to look for for future learning. You can join an org even if you aren’t sure if you fully agree with its methods and ideology. You can always leave if it turns out that it doesn’t suit you. No org is perfect but you should have some feeling that you are able to actually build something through it.

  • The point is that gender is not binary and that there will always be people who will get excluded for no reason when you try to define a boundary for exclusion.

  • You sound like a terf.

  • I’m speaking of my experience of being trans nonbinary and having been discriminated against under the guise of gender exclusive spaces. Cis women have a long history of excluding trans and nonbinary people from ‘women only’ spaces so excuse me for being sceptical of the concept.

  • Not all women will be at feminist spaces for women’s protection either so it’s important to remove people from a safe space whenever they make the space unsafe. I’m open to the idea of women only spaces if they serve a function but in practice the most common function I have seen them be used as is for enforcing gender norms and excluding trans and nonbinary people.

Most queer spaces make a point to not police on queerness because queer people get excluded so often from gender exclusive spaces. Policing on ideology prevents that issue entirely and doesn’t make the space less safe. It actually makes the space safer of it.

I’d also say that there wasn’t an issue with men only space to discuss testicular cancer, say.

Why wouldn’t trans women be welcome at such spaces?

  • Can you give an example for when those safe spaces add more value than for example making it a feminist only space where feminist men are welcome as well? In my experience feminists spaces attract very few men anyways.

  • I know this is not really relevant but there are plenty of attractive ace people

  • He has sexually assaulted a child (made the child suck his tong) on camera so his connections to epstein are at this point irrelevant.

  • This is so evil, I don’t understand how they get away with it.

  • Isn’t there also a general trend where during economic depression/general dark times colourful architecture and designs become more prevalent? I’m far from an art historian but I predict Mcdo’s will soon become more colourful (but still boringly shaped).

  • The ‘horny’ scenes in OS were only ‘horny’ for men who have no consideration for the women involved. It was all sexist.

In TNG a large part of the horny parts were sexist

In DS9 queer people exist only in the ‘evil dimension’ which implies that all the queer characters in DS9 were keeping their queerness to themselves in the normal dimension which is the proper thing to do. The exception to this is Jadzia which is a very based character

  • Obviously COVID has lead to significant cognitive decline in many people. But I think that the effects of stress often get overlooked as well. The work conditions in the US are much worse than in most of Europe, which already has bad work conditions. Anecdotally, in places with US and European employees who work together there is a difference where the US employees work way more hours but are usually way less creative/sharp/productive than their European counterparts.

  • For every successful dropshipper there are hundreds of failing dropshippers. It’s become a MLL scheme to oversell the success of dropshipping in order to earn more money ‘coaching’ people who get sold on the lie and want to learn how to do it. It’s become another flavour of the trading industry.

  • I worry that the constant exposure to these horrific crimes will desensitise people. Personality I try to avoid the explicit stuff as much as possible.

  • The centers in my area are for undocumented and homeless people and they have had to struggle a lot in the beginning with neighbours who did not want a center for homeless and documented people next to their house. The community events had a big impact on the overall opinion of their neighbours and now they have almost no issues with neighbours and get lots of donations.

  • If you have the means to buy property then you can create a community space for your neighbourhood where you can host events or community kitchen on donation basis, you can rent out or where you can sell stuff. That’s basically what all similar initiatives in my area do to sustain themselves. Leftist organizing means organizing over all axes except class, because we do need that solidarity between all working class people in order to win.

The formula of making a protective space for a victimised group that then works on bettering the whole community where they’re located has been successful in many places so it might work in yours as well. Aside from the money you gain, the connection with the neighbourhood functions as a security layer. It also creates a breeding pot for more political organizing.
