  • They don't know shit about me. They know my parents' address (where I don't live), my favourite ATMs and some of my online purchases. They also know how much I pay for energy and heating.

  • What's worse is that their premium smartphones don't have what makes Motorola stand out - audio jack and sd cards

  • How? I'm on LOS right now.

  • Almost every firewall app on F-Droid has it. What Graphene brings to the take is that you don't need root for that.

  • Yes, I definitely had a long term strategy when posting an internet comment.

But please do elaborate what my "stance on general purpose computing" is? Genuinely curious.

My feeling is you're pro general purpose computing and against censorship. Which is why it's strange to see you make fun of a provider for not censoring their product enough. I was referring only to that part of the article.

I see your stand from the comment above though, I'm not going to argue that. Peace.

  • There wasn't, but it's not the first article you wrote that I read, and I know your stance on general purpose computing. Why is a general purpose language model somehow a bigger problem?

  • Woah, now we have a right wing trucker and a left wing activist as examples of why cashless == fascist, it will make things easier to explain that position to people of different world views

  • We can also buy paysafecards in convenience stores, and these are actually anonymous, unlike Blik.

  • Metal only in spirit but no guitars: Bohren and der Club of Gore. ]

In 1992 they produced a crossover of jazz and ambient, which they self-described as an "unholy ambient mixture of slow jazz ballads, Black Sabbath doom and down-tuned Autopsy sounds"

  • Modern CPUs can downmix and compress audio without a sweat, it doesn't need to be done by the studio.

  • 174 upvotes and no comment about how AI fucked up the tops so they look like zucchinis?

  • that is so hilariously unsafe that its guardrails can be subverted by a tactic a 13-year-old uses when they want to prank-call someone. And that Anthropic refuses to take responsibility for that unsafe product.

We should ban general computing too, it's scary how unsafe these things are!

  • Tomorrow on Blomberg: "Black Rock announces Monero ($XMR) ETF"

  • What the hell happened!?

  • We have to put paper waste into plastic bags provided by the company, around 120 liters in size. So any larger boxes need to be not onpy flattened but torn before they fit into these bags. It's a workout.

  • https://rss-bridge.org/ does a somewhat acceptable job at it if you look from the perspective of someone who used the app before, or an outstanding job if you come from the perspective of someone who never had an account and clicked links to instagram only to see giant popups and errors.

  • The internet changed so much since being a rest from crushing reality of real life, hasn't it?

  • "Overall, this isn't immune to scope creep towards surveillance" in your original post sums up my fears.

As soon as the majority of population goes digital-only, the nice privacy properties can be thrown out of the window, because there will be no alternative. What will you do, claim you're too old for a phone ID? But you just used the previous one without any problems.
