  • I mean, your feet typically don't really change size after you grow up? I just buy whatever size I last bought.

Edit: tho to be fair it's not even always the same size because the size that's comfortable highly depends from shoe to shoe, I always have to try on a few pairs to be sure.

  • I'm not an economist so most of what I know I picked up over the years, but a lot of people definitely do think about inflation when they think about what to do with their money. Most people I know are aware of the fact that if you just keep your money in your bank account you're losing money. The point is to then encourage people to invest their money into stuff so they can benefit the economy. The things you mentioned are mostly the consequences of bad economic policies, not necessarily inflation. Whilst they might not exist were it not for inflation, that would bring about other problems as well.

  • Damn that's a lot of repairs. Maybe my standards are just low, the old bike I had (3x7 gears) I rode for probably somewhere around half the distance you did, and never changed anything (apart from tires and brake pads), and the bike itself was my old dad's bike that's more than 25 years old by now. The 7th gear did start skipping pretty hard by the end tho.

  • What difference does it make for you? If you believe the source then you should believe that they checked that the referenced messages are true. If you don't believe them, what difference is there between using AI or not? They could just as easily made it up themselves. As a tool it can be quite convenient for exactly this usecase and many others, as long as you double-check its output.

  • Whilst I get your point, their point is still valid in the sense that you just can't extract that energy from gasoline in a more efficient manner than just burning it. For practical purposes, gasoline truly is that much less energy dense.

  • I know multiple friends that easily eat that and myb 20-50% more on a regular and are some of the most fit people I know. Ofc they exercise a fuckton and only eating food like this would probably lead to cardiac arrest, but my point is it depends on the person.

  • Sometimes it's fun to hop onto the hype train and experience a cultural moment, or get something that's trending. Buying Helldivers 2 after 4 or more years when the sales get big enough won't let you experience the cultural hit it was when it hit. I'm not saying you should always follow the herd, heck, the vast majority of the time I don't, but sometimes it can be fun.

  • Yeah I think in general "export" is used for cases where you're saving to an application's non-native file type, whilst save as is more often for "save as a new file somewhere else", tho I've seen a lot of apps allow you to use "save as" to save to a uneditable format.

  • No, technically you just need to be "European", which is never strictly defined anywhere. It was being considered that Algeria join after all, but it didn't happen because of the civil war (from my understanding of the situation). Canada is one of the most European-like non Europe countries, so it would kinda fit.
