I love you so much for this.
Thank you for saying that, friend. <3

I feel so much dread.
I hike a lot around the Front Range, and the woods are so silent compared to when I moved here in 2002. I used to always see chickadees, nuthatches, woodpeckers, magpies, juncos…it was gorgeous. Now I'm lucky to see a couple of birds within a two-hour hike.
It's a weird, different, quiet world. I miss the birds.
A new Ori game. :/
Could it be one of these? The first picture especially looks similar.
The story of how a woman lost her daughter because the grandmother didn't believe that the girl's coconut allergy was real, despite years of watching the parents trying to find out the allergen so that they could stop the girl from winding up in the emergency room. The grandmother kept the kid overnight and used coconut oil on her hair; the child went into anaphylaxis and died.
The mother said that the grandmother begs her to see her other grandchildren, as they've now cut ties with her; the mom's response was, "You can come over when you bring my daughter with you."
A horrible story of how some people just believe they know better than everyone, including doctors.
What a lovely idea!
Oh my god. This was amazing.
Thank you! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, friend.
MacKenzie Scott, Bezos's ex. She's given more than $14 billion to charity.
I don't think that guy can feel his teeth.
I wish I had just a bit of whatever he's on. Holy shit.
My brother (staunch conservative) once paraphrased Churchill to me: "Anyone who is a conservative when they're young is heartless; anyone who's a liberal when they're old is brainless."
Now that 50 is just over the horizon for me, I say that someone who voted for Donald Trump thinking I'm brainless is a compliment. Also, forgive student debt, give us universal healthcare and a universal basic income, fuck the rich, and come the revolution, may each of you reading this get to throw a Molotov at someone who owns a private jet. 💙
How can there be no trials of the sword?!?
How about "Young Lust" vs. "Great Gig in the Sky" by Floyd? Or pretty much any song from the Syd era.
I have seen many cute things. A cat or two in my time. Bunnies. But that may be the cutest thing I've ever seen.

I dunno, I think Elon leans Chaotic.
Oh my holy hell, I forgot what sub I was on. In other news, MTG has never looked so good.
He looks really really bad.

Huge colonies of emperor penguins saw no chicks survive last year as sea ice disappears
As rapidly warming global temperatures help push Antarctica's sea ice to unprecedented lows, it's threatening the very existence of one of the continent's most iconic species: emperor penguins.
Four out of five emperor penguin colonies analyzed in the Bellingshausen Sea, west of the Antarctic Peninsula, saw no chicks survive last year as the area experienced an enormous loss of sea ice, according to a new study published Thursday in the journal Nature Communications Earth & Environment.
Capital of NWT, Canada, is being evacuated due to wildfires
Yellowknife residents have been ordered to begin evacuating the city immediately as wildfires approach, N.W.T. officials said Wednesday evening.
While the city is not in immediate danger, Environment Minister Shane Thompson said a "phased approach" to evacuating will allow citizens to get out safely by car or by plane.
The evacuation order says residents should leave "according to risk." People living along Ingraham Trail, in Dettah, and the Kam Lake, Grace Lake and the Engle business district in Yellowknife are considered at highest risk and are urged to leave as soon as possible.
Other residents of Yellowknife and Ndilo should leave by noon Friday.

Ocean acidification is going to do all sorts of weird things to animals’ sensory perception.
Acidification threatens to deprive a variety of marine species of crucial chemical cues. Research into this phenomenon is still limited, but as the field develops, the scope of the potential consequences is growing clearer.

Knowing that civilization is going to collapse can be a profoundly lonely experience. Let’s find one other and enjoy the time we have left.

Extreme Rain From Atmospheric Rivers and Ice-Heating Micro-Cracks Are Ominous New Threats to the Greenland Ice Sheet
At the current level of human-caused global warming, extreme rainfall from atmospheric rivers, as well as an extensive network of previously undetected micro-cracks, could degrade large parts of the Greenland Ice Sheet faster than expected and accelerate melting toward worst-case projections for ice...
