A smartwatch. As a formerly fat guy with insomnia, the sleep and fitness tracking have been life changing.
Replaced all the screens in the house with 4K 144Hz HDR OLEDs. Once you go true black, you don't go back.
A 4090. Stayed up for the midnight launch so I could snag one at MSRP. People mocked me for spending $1600 on a GPU, but given recent events, turns out that I actually got a good deal instead. This GPU will easily last me a decade; hopefully long enough to ride out all this tariff and inflation bullshit before I have to build a new PC again.

This is the way, just don't use all of the sauce, or it'll all absorb into the pasta, leaving you with a dry, yet mushy spaghetti when you reheat it the next day. The secret is to mix in about 2 or 3 ladlefulls of sauce with the pasta and then store the rest in a separate container.

Use NextDNS with strong filters and the DDG app with App Tracking Protection turned on. While no filter is 100% perfect, this combo stops the vast majority of privacy-invading shit from getting to 3rd parties.
Also you can add a text description of the image between the brackets if you'd like. It helps blind people.

Single player AI is often repetitive and boring; the unpredictability of human players is what makes online games so much fun. You people should take those sticks out of your asses and give them a try sometime. You might find that you like them.

Also it's not available on x86-64 CPUs. You need an ARM CPU with an NPU. Microsoft's reasoning is so that the AI shit can be processed locally to protect your privacy. Apparently they've never heard of GPUs before.
I'm not worried about it; EA games go offline long after I'm done with them. I've never seen them take down a game that wasn't already completely dead 5 years ago.
My major concern is with development. I don't trust them to make a great game without fucking something up somehow.

Just wanted to drop by and say something cause I know at least a couple of people were expecting me in the Discord today.
These past three days have been non-stop work for me (on top of my day job. edit: Not to mention all the time it took to get the website & station up and running). I appreciate all your song submissions and applications. They just keep coming which shows me that there's a real interest in keeping this thing going. But it's easy for me to get burnt out quick, especially since I have ADHD.
So today is a mental break for me. Tomorrow I will be back at it, processing more tunes and getting all the DJs who signed up on the airwaves ASAP, so that you're not stuck listening to the same songs every single day. Also planning on making some proper bumpers to replace the generic placeholders that just say "this is Radio Lemmy" every 4 songs or so. A few people have offered to make some; can't wait to hear them.
Also, themed days are in the works, i.e. dedicated days

What are your thoughts on a user-driven, officially unofficial radio station for Lemmy?
For the past few weeks I've been working on creating my own public radio station (it's been a dream of mine since I was a kid). Well now it's up and running but I don't know what to do with it. So I thought I'd see what Lemmy thinks about the concept, before I go all in and start investing in licensing fees, better servers, and more listener capacity.
If you're interested, we'll need curators to add songs to the rotation when no DJ is on air. It's simple and straightforward. Just click "Suggest" on the top right of the website and enter the Artist + Song Title on the form.
We will also need DJs and presenters to volunteer any freetime you're willing to give up and help make this happen. Click "Join" to get started.
All styles and genres are welcome. Hop on the airwaves anytime you want. Take requests, or don't. Mix and scratch, or just play one tune after another. Host a talk show/podcast if it suits you. Up to you. You can either use your own DJ/broadcasting software,

20+ hours in and my ADHD ass STILL can't figure out how the hell I'm supposed to repair my ship. The "REPAIR" icon is always greyed-out. Help!
Quest on a planet I can't get to?
Update: Turns out that I didn't play far enough into the main quest. After joining That space adventure club thing and bringing Lisa Sarah with me I was able to finally get where I needed to be to complete that timed quest.
Thanks to all that helped.
I just started (about 4 hours in) and the game won't let me fast travel to another planet. "Fast travel is currently unavailable to this location".
It's too far away to just fly to (flew for about half an hour before getting bored), so how am I supposed to get there to continue a quest? Am I supposed to just wait it out as I fly there in realtime? What am I missing?
What happens to my account if the instance I'm using so happens to shut down? Do I lose the account or is there a way to "transfer" it to a different instance?
