Bevy is a refreshingly simple data-driven game engine built in Rust. It is free and open-source forever!

  • Oh boy I have to physically stop myself from posting half my library ._.

  • Well someone's got to play them otherwise the game wouldn't be much fun :p Personally I started out Vanu, but made another TR character to check out the mosquito, and ended up falling in love with the Vulcan

  • Love that game! Been playing on & off occasionally with a couple friends. TR on Miller (formerly Cobalt). I mainly play Engi and duo/solo Harasser. I love that vehicle, it's so much fun chasing damaged enemy tanks with the Vulcan. High risk high reward! Other times I mainly play LA or Infil (the TSAR-42 is fun). And medic when I want to feel more useful :p

One friend of mine has an interesting playstyle... He takes a light assault with the ambusher and exclusively uses the knife. Calls himself Sir Boosh. Risky AF but he became really good at it somehow 😆

  • Acorns!

  • I definitely think content warnings (not specifically "NSFW") are ideal for this. Sure, the line between what should and shouldn't be content-warned is blurry, and you don't need to go through every highly-specific issue someone might have with your post, but things like tripophobia (or arachnophobia) are pretty widely known so it makes sense to warn about it imo. Especially for image posts since you can't really just "not look at it" if it pops up in your feed.

And whether or not the warning is precisely about a "phobia" isn't relevant imo. It's just a nice thing to do, as it avoids causing others to feel suddenly itchy and uncomfortable for several minutes.

So no, I wouldn't tag spider images as NSFW, but I'd definitely add a "CW: spider" if Lemmy supported it 🙂

  • They just proved that "X is irrational and non-repeating digits -> can find any sequence in X", as the original question implied, is false. Maybe pi does in fact contain any sequence, but that wouldn't be because of its irrationality or the fact that it's non-repeating, it would be some other property

  • In your movement system you can change transform.scale.x which will flip your sprite if it's -1.0.

(Also just a note for the future: you don't use static variables with bevy, you would instead use a Resource. Or if it'd data attached to a specific entity, you'd make a Component for it)

  • As long as Rossmann has a say in the ordeal I doubt it'll enshittify. If it they can't carry it anymore, I think they'll re-license it.
But in any case, I'm really glad to see effort toward this. Because I may be naive, but I think this will make viewers & potential devs aware that it's possible to have a great experience consuming video without being tied up in Youtube's basement, and I predict will inspire more FOSS in the same vein.
