Just a spacefaring raccoon that's eaten all the food onboard. Sorry.

Additional option to make the comment button open comments section

As it stands, there doesn't seem to be an option to make the button for comments open the comments section on posts. It goes directly to leaving a comment.

There's a bunch of options that you can change that button (button 1, etc) in the settings to, including removing it altogether. I click the comment button every time, then I remember that I have to click the body of the post to see comments (resulting in backing out and extra clicks). I can't seem to get my muscle memory right on that - probably partially because I bounce back to Jerboa, where you do click the comment button to go to the comments.

As for visually, I like the button icon and comment count, so I think that's perfect - I would just love for there to be a setting to change the action from leaving a comment to go to comments section. Maybe "view comments" and "leave comment" in the settings to differentiate.

Pretty please? ❀️

  • Plex or Jellyfin might be what you're after.

  • I've read somewhere along the way that this is a Lemmy issue, not an app issue. I believe it's being addressed by the devs.

Uncaved - Thus I Demand The Abolition Of God

From their debut album, Dogmatorraistes, that came out today. I just love the sound of a fretless bass. πŸ₯²

    Permanently Deleted

  • My PC specs have plateaued as of late, but we're both in this picture. πŸ˜…

  • Downloads one instance's communities (and some other settings) to a JSON, then you can upload from that JSON to a new instance. I'm not sure there's anything that quite caters to what you're looking for yet.

  • I have an alt for my main account. I just link back to my main account from there. I mainly use it when my main instance goes down. Likewise, I link my main account to an older account I had originally that I migrated from (all same username). That way, even if my new/alt looks really new, if someone cared enough, they could follow the trail backward to other older accounts.

  • LASIM works great. Used it to migrate my main account to an alt for when my main instance inevitably goes down.

  • I loved Textra. It's not their fault, but I really love RCS support, and right now that's basically Google Messages and a handful of preinstalled carrier messenger apps (if I'm not mistaken). I loved adding a 3 second delay on sending texts - I always seem to see typos as/after I hit send. πŸ˜‚

  • What actually happened here? Aside from the shifter deciding it wanted to take a nap.

  • Lemmy.ml removed the ability to create communities to (I believe) encourage using other instances. You can create a community on other instances still - like lemmy.world, for example.

  • That was quick! Logged in and went through a few skips. Not seeing anything worth noting, which is a good thing. I appreciate that it also pulls from smaller instances I've never even heard of.

  • If you're on the website, go to your post, click the 3 vertical dots so that it expands, and hit the trash can icon.

  • Simple Gallery from Simple Mobile. Why? Because Simple makes apps that are exactly what they need to be with sensible features that are usable without being bloated. And maybe use Dropbox for cloud syncing if you don't want to set up your own thing or use Google Photos.

  • On Android, I like Spotube. You can sign into Spotify if you want, and the app will interact with it, but uses YouTube as the source for streaming the audio. This is good if, say, you have a free Spotify account and aren't at your PC to use the web player + uBlock.

  • I honestly don't know how it should be. I'll leave that up to you. I wasn't logged in when I was going through communities. So that might be a way to filter them out easily - if you can pull a list of blocked instances from users' home instances once they log in.

  • Pretty good. It's kind of like Stumbleupon for Lemmy communities. The only "issue" I saw is it includes the forbidden no-no instances that are defederated by a lot of the bigger instances for being... troublesome.

Weird feed issue when setting Frontpage as default

As the title says, I've set Frontpage as default. Now, whenever I load into the app, this is what my feed does. Note the hintInstance=null stuff at the top as well. If I click Frontpage from the left panel, it'll refresh normally and populate. I've tried setting any other as default, and the result is the same. Any ideas? Or is this something that's already being looked at?

    Moment Of Contact (2022)

    tubitv.com Moment of Contact (2022)

This film explores a series of events in 1996 when citizens of Varginha, Brazil, reported seeing one or more strange creatures and a UFO crash.

    Moment of Contact (2022)

A more-than-decent look at the Varginha, Brazil, UFO/creature incident from 1996. It starts a little slow, but really held my attention once it got going. I wasn't familiar with any of it going in. Surprisingly, there weren't really any "eye roll" moments or oversensationalization that are common with these kinds of things. I think the interviewer wants to amp it up, but the language barrier and translators keep him reeled in. It's fairly engaging and not super over the top.

    Linked to Tubi for convenience.

Cause N Effect - Validation Through Suffering (Full Album)

One of my favorite albums this year. Solid melodic tech death that came out of nowhere when it dropped. Enjoy!
