  • How embarrassed would you be if that was your parent?

And, cripes, how much shit would you cop for it at school?

  • Wasn't that the Nazi's in Melbourne that interrupted the service?

ie the Melbourne Storm board cancelled Welcome to Country because literal Nazis booed it at the Dawn Service?

  • Others have answered this well already 👍

  • Curb weight 1634kg

This was the standout spec that might make me consider one.

I've been looking mainly at small hatchbacks/SUVs, and they all seem to weigh in at over 1800kg. And many are over 2000kg. Excluding Aptera...

  • I made the mistake of RTFA, and I can't understand it.

It says "The NRL has struck an in-principle agreement for a Perth-based Bears team after acquiescing to the Western Australian government’s wish not to be charged a license fee to become the game’s 18th franchise.".
    BUT further down the page:
"Negotiations between the NRL and WA government appeared to have ended earlier in the month, with both parties unable to find common ground."

And it also talks about needing the buy-in or approval of the clubs. And that hasn't happened yet either.

AFAICT, the only thing agreed is that nothing is agreed. By anyone.

  • ‘where’s the money coming from’

A:Whatever Labor is spending it on!

    ‘to spend on what?’

A: We only just announced this! The bribes err, donations oops, strategic direction will be soon available

  • For anyone looking for pub and other specials

are your friends. $15 schnitzels, steaks etc can be found. Sometimes you can combine it with a cheaper drink during happy hour.

  • What will it matter when a small car is now a fucking Dodge RAM?

  • Holy shit! I'm not alone!

I thought I was in an apocalyptic movie in the Sydney community thread, and I was the last survivor!

  • I sometimes wonder how things would look today if Shorten won in 2019 and some negative gearing and CGT changes had been made...

    Bad, but not as bad?

  • Well, STI's are pretty stiff and are a harsh ride.

You could try a WRX instead...

  • Hqppy Easter!

    Chocolate eating activated! 😛

  • If they mentioned the freeze before they actually froze, they would never have been able to freeze from the volume of rollovers/funds going out.

The 'Leaders' Debate and world politics in general

I am genuinely sad that I keep being reminded of:

    Missing: sydbot

Police are searching for a missing bot known as sydbot. It was last seen on 17 February 2025 in the Sydney community.

Members had expected weekly discussion threads for the past two weeks, but sydbot did not show at the expected times. The Sydney community hold grave fears for its safety.

sydbot is not considered dangerous, and if you see sydbot, please give him a boot so he resets and goes back to normal and can create weekly discussion threads.

After a series of controversial performances, Snicko has been sacked.

Hotspot has been waiting in the wings, and is hopeful he we be called up as the replacement.

    7 Plus lol

It's hysterical that I can't watch the main cricket channel on 7plus. I just get the red circle going round and round.

But if I switch to the Hindi channel, it's perfect.

Needless to say, with India at 6/73, the Hindi commentators are a little subdued, but still make more sense than Ponting and co.

    Penrith or Melbourne?

So, who are you supporting for the Grand Final?

I can't make my mind up.

I don't want Penrith to win again. I hate dynasties, and I think it's better for the game when teams rise and fall. It's one of the benefits of a salary cap.

But I don't like Melbourne, because of their historical rorting of the salary cap, ruining multiple seasons of the NRL. And the whole introduction of wrestling manoeuvres into footy. A lot of their game seems to be based on cheating or exploiting weaknesses in rukes rather than playing in the spirit of the game.

Or do I just barrack for the referee, touchies and video reviewers?

BMWs, Mercs spray painted. Strike force set up.

I thought maybe someone was marking cars that had been highlighted on Dashcam Owners Australia, but apparently not....

Thank God resources have been allocated for a strike force! One poor victim got the paint off with WD40, but the trauma will last forever!

    CrowdStrike impact on aussie.zone?

Sorry if this has been asked/answered previously, but it just struck me that I hadn't really noticed any impacts of CloudStrike on aussie.zone.

Was wondering if it was a non-event, or maybe there are some war stories with heroes deserving medals!

    Demolition in the first half.

    • Moses making 50-60m with his kicks
    • Angus Crighton like a runaway tank
    • even Trell looking like a footy player again
    • Liam Martin, clean it up. Grubby all night.
    • Used to think DCE was overrated, now I think he may be underrated...

The traditional 1-1 back to QLD for NSW to lose game 3 looks to be happening again....

I use old.reddit.com, and had trouble logging in from there today. "Too many redirects". I also use the Redirect to old.reddit.com extension. When I disabled that, the login link it now takes you to is https://www.reddit.com/login/. That, of course, takes you to www.reddit.com.

The old 'popup' login box has been removed. I also noticed that the in sub logins where they used to have username/password entry boxes have been removed.

More reddit enshitification to try and make us use their horrible UI.

I thought that the media was a little over the top with reporting every electric car fire.

Little did I realise just how blown out of proportion it was:

"...electric vehicle battery fires are rare. Indeed, the available data indicate the fire risk is between 20 and 80 times greater for petrol and diesel vehicles. "

So, it appears the first SMR project in the US was scrapped due to rising costs.

An Aussie SMR would take 10-15 years before even being online and we'd be the guinea pigs.

Perhaps it's time to pivot to technology already available and that can be implemented in the short term?
