Depends on the game/publisher. Depending on the anticheat it can be as simple as enabling Linux/Proton support on the dev's side with a flag.
I can't play Destiny 2 with my Destiny obsessed friend, that's about all I've been impacted. Didn't really get into it anyway. I don't even check ProtonDB anymore before buying new games, they almost all work flawlessly these days.
I want to date older women. 🤷♂️
People say it never gets easier, but it does.
I literally quit for my wife the day we met.
I was a two pack a day Navy punk. Met her at a friends house with a large group of folks, and at some point she mentioned she could never date a smoker. On the way home I picked up a pack of patches and spent the next few weeks quitting. We started seriously dating about a year later and beyond the occasional cigar/cigarette socially while drinking (like once a year if that) I've been smokeless. This was 2006.
Why would I resent her for my choice?
Why would anyone have an issue what other people self-identify as? My name is Todd, but I'd like you to call me Steve. Does this impact your day?
Ask a Ninja apparently started up again a few months ago. I'm totally fine pretending the last decade didn't happen!
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who ever saw that flick. Concur there's some lasting life lessons in there. And space turtles!
I love these games, but the fan service scenes sprinkled through like that are cringey as all hell. At least I never knew about this one, I bathed my Snake regularly.
It doesn't work if you don't pre-print this out.
You'd be surprised how much can be done at the edge with current cameras. I'm not sure exactly how these particular ones are set up, but the other major players in the space (Axis,Bosch,Panasonic) all have pretty surprising levels of local compute dedicated to "AI", and leveraging external VMS platforms can exponentially increase capabilities. It's pretty idiot proof once set up, as it's aimed at desk jockies that monitor and report with minimal systems training.
Again, not this specific system but this stuff is far from sci-fi anymore.
Spray paint. Krylon makes "stained glass" paints. Something dark and thick like violet would be pretty effective.
I work in security engineering, including massive video systems. With any commercial unit made in the last 5 years and any software past entry level consumer grade this is a non-issue. Especially if someone is using descriptive visual search when pulling up video vs just scanning through every motion event.
Plus they gonk.
Aurora Innovation already has 20 trucks on a highway in Texas as a pilot program. Unlike Tesla's design, they don't rely on cameras and have LIDAR/RADAR all over the place.
Cory Doctorow wrote a fantastic story about this. https://raw.githubusercontent.com/wandyezj/reference/master/unauthorized-bread.pdf
That's a fucking hilarious shirt though.
Doesn't it just clog up the fuel filter because it won't dissolve in gasoline?

There's a shitload of privacy issues with almost all new cars, but at least outside of Tesla I don't know of any streaming cameras anywhere past the dash. Even if they did most 360 camera systems have pretty shit views for anything but the road immediately around the vehicle. I just got a new Ford and you wouldn't see faces no matter how close or far someone was from any of the cameras without them putting their head right up to one. Sure my GPS data is going who knows where at all times and they know about every hard turn or speeding incident, but outside of removing the battery from my phone I'm not exactly sure how to avoid that going to a half dozen random companies for pennies anyway.
I'm a privacy conscious dude but I'm so damn tired of losing to big companies I'm not sure how hard I can fight beyond tiny donations to the EFF and being aware of all these issues to annoy my friends about whenever it comes up. 🤷♂️
I wouldn't even be mad honestly. I learned a ton of my early computer skills trying to get stuff running where I shouldn't or get into things I had no business messing with. That's how kids learn!
It's a cool game I've come back to a few times over the years, but it's very obtuse and really easy to break/unbalance. Kind of feels unfinished in a lot of ways. At fill price this is a total ripoff, but grabbing the original or catching a sale is a good idea if you're at all curious.
Don't forget to backup your Security officer!
