  • US citizens need to be very careful about their next steps.

If you do this wrong you will hand Trump all the reasons / excuses he needs to enact martial law (and have support for that) and then say bye bye to term limit. You need to think about the next 20 years, about a Trump dynasty etc.

  • Why would there have to be a point? It's possible there is no architect and thus no point. It could all be random chaos colliding into this weird situation, and we're just particles floating along in the maelstrom.

To come the question of why should you care, well you can choose pleasures or pain in your time on this planet. Pain is the default if you make no choice.

  • Manipulative headline. It's not holding up anything as much as people are trying to make sure they can still feed their families in the face of the insatiable corporate hunger for cost cutting to yield ever more profits.

  • I thought this guy was voted in and they wanted his shock therapy on the economy.

Well, there you go. Maybe economics isn't as simple as populists would have you believe, but it's too late now, the damage train is rolling.

  • That's great, I suppose less concentration to a single platform is a better direction.

Is there less rage and frothing at the mouth on Bluesky? I would imagine whatever ills plague Twitter would also eventually come to Bluesky, because people are there. And people are people. We don't seem to have a solution to the problem - which is a specific subset of people intent on harm, and allowing them direct and wholesale access to the social fabric.

So easy nowadays to fabricate rage-inducing and follower-generating bait. No time for truth and no plan to really get there. How long before we see someone take a stab at a ministry of truth?

  • I think each woman has her own reasons (some people actually like traditions) but I have the impression that, globally, women are not the same as what we see online. I think today the taking of a surname does not indicate ownership or property, at least to most modern women (and men).

I don't think any woman thinks like that anymore, or perhaps not many, so the motivations would then also be obviously different.
