  • What a way to find out, lol.

    zips up

  • "What do you mean "deliberate poisoning" ? Dart frogs must just happen to visit that part of Russia sometimes, or at least once. Navalny's fault for interacting with one. Nothing to do with us" - a KGB SFB "Government spokesperson" announced on RT

  • Soviet Union was also a collection of many countries too. If you added all the former USSR countries medal tallies up over the 35 years,, I wonder what if it would be closer. Also it shouldn't be forgotten that other countries have got a lot better during that time and the USSR was also big into doping.

  • Interesting, in Australia it's always because if you don't go over your budget, you won't get as much the next year, which means you can't plan for things to get funded. So we purposely spend all of it and then some, plus run jobs over the EOFY (July-June) so we get enough for the next year. If a job is most likely to finish in April, it suddenly isn't until October.

  • A muse is someone who inspires them to do the thing. They don't necessarily have to do anything for the other person to be inspired by them.

An example could be an artist who is inspired to paint his favourite model numerous times in different lights and conditions as they just seem to be the right fit for them.

Or the songwriter telling songs about love or heartbreak from their own perspective and history as they had that with someone.

  • If the US military were capable of self-reflection the world would be a different place.

  • How convenient for anyone who happens to be staging an embargo on the country at this moment in time.

Not suspicious at all. No sir. Nothing to see here.

  • Breaking up from my wife of 20+ years as of today because she never does anything wrong and when I suggested that maybe that's not always true (because she let something I made get destroyed by not reassessing that it was safe from the dog when nobody was around) I am in the bad books and she is explaining to our 7 year old daughter why she's not going to be coming to our family gathering tomorrow and that she may be only seeing each of us on a week on-week off basis like her friend has to do. Which I'll be honest, was a bit of a shit thing to say to her and make her worried when it might not even happen.

Hope everyone has a better one than I am. Even those who are alone.

  • As a South Aussie, we also have HUGE amounts of roof-top solar.

I've currently got a 2.8kw system and am upgrading it this year to a 16kw with a 32kwh battery. I'll use it to charge my ev (another purchase this year, possible changing both cars) and get a bidirectional charger installed so, when there is limited power in the grid, I can sell some of it back at stupidly high prices, including some from the car too. We use about 20-40kw per day (40kw only on really hot or really cold days), so should cover us for a while.

In case anyone wants cost breakdown, it's going to cost about $30k, and will pay for itself due no bills in a maximum of 8 years and a lot fewer if we sell spare electricity back to the grid.

  • A new form of government, voting system and dismantling of the current two parties into a range of smaller parties elected via mixed member representation voted in by preferential voting and banning monied interests and lobbying.

Need to eat the rich first.

  • Of course they are. You've got to gather the evidence before you start the purge.

The long knives are being sharpened

  • Ogles can't deal with ogling. Ironic.

  • You been looking over my shoulder or something?

  • Ah mate, you've now just lost any credibility you may have thought you had.

*The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

    George Orwell, 1984*

  • Your Joe and Jane Smith in this tale are clearly simple-minded idiots then and probably believe ON rhetoric so not much is lost in the grand scheme of things

  • The dumbest man in politics replaces the dumbest woman. ALP are the real winners here.

Even as a lefty, I wish there was a functional opposition (though I wish the opposition was further left than ALP tbh).

  • Personally I prefer to give mine to charities that help women escape domestic violence households and need help setting up their lives again. Many leave with nothing, including their phones which are usually being tracked by their abuser. Have a look around to find one, or a local homeless shelter. Or, if you're worried it will become ewaste, send it to a recycling centre - many parts can be stripped out and made into new products.

  • Keep holding that umbrella, cuck

  • Texas was already stupid. The daughter is British but her father lived in the US. It's not that uncommon of a coincidence.

If it was in the UK and someone did this there, it would've been bigger news as most people don't have guns because it's a more normal country.
