@inactionfigure @faizalr I've checked it. According to the docs, it is supported (https://fwupd.org/lvfs/devices/). I'm going to try it out later this week. For now I'm happy that I successfully moved my SSD from my old machine to the new one.
@inactionfigure @faizalr fwupd works great on the T480, I've used it yesterday. Going to check if it's working on an T14 Gen2 too.

What you've described, sounds like some basic user errors which would've been easily solved by sticking to good modeling practices.
