Keep it in your pants, Janeway. 😂
Cats that have cats for pets? Or are the ones on all fours the children of the species?

Hm, I guess dealing with parental quirks tilted me the other way. I feel now like I want to be perpetually 20, but I had a chronically depressed single/divorced mom and an alcoholic dad (I'm pretty sure he was self medicating for his undiagnosed ADHD, and have come to terms with all that went on). So yeah, I parented my parents.
Looks like someone tried to get at the last of the guac in the bottom of the tupperware.
930 was so awesome. It still is kinda awesome, but it was special back then too (and I know I didn't get to witness their true heyday in the old building). Once they opened the Anthem though, I feel 930 drifted more indie.

Lolol
Also, I was out on the Mall with them for fireworks.
Ask him if he could trust you again if you deleted your tiktok and IG accounts. And then delete them.
Or if you don't wish to do that, and want to keep making money from followers, then your guy is saying that's his boundary to protect his heart.
You can't control what your followers will send to you. If he's not ok with that, then your choice seems to be him or the extra money, but not both. That sucks and it hurts, but it also means that having both was never really a possibility.
Who doesn't love going to the aquarium? But now I also really want to go with a opossum wearing a backpack.
Way back when (before spellcheck I guess) we were forced to fill notebooks with spelling words, written many, many times a la Bart Simpson's chalkboard punishment in the show intro. I still have phantom hand cramping from spelling homework.
That's such a great idea!
You might be able to apply for an account online and not have to go in, unless you just want to meander through their not-book- things available to check out.
My library has a lovely assortment of things. Anything from camping gear to ghost hunting "equipment" like a spirit box or emf meter. My city doesn't have a fully outfitted maker lab tho, but I am eligible for an account at the neighboring city that does have a kickass maker lab (3d printers, laser engravers, sewing and embroidery machines, Cricuts, and even a professional recording studio).
Definitely some kind of stone bulwark at the cave entrance to keep out the bears and prehistoric cheetahs.
Porque no los dos? Salted chocolate FTW!😁
What was the last hobby you took up?
Hm, I think Tool Ænima was the last album I listened to start to finish. I normally have a Pandora mix on or a podcast.
On that note, what is a podcast you've binged recently?
Turquoise and any shade kinda close to that. Love LOVE it.
What is your favorite holiday?
You're pretty fly
There are plenty of use cases that don't involve it needing to recite accurate facts.
I used it to help write copy for my website, to write proposals, and to help with rephrasing when I can't think of the most diplomatic way to say a thing.
He actually cared about us. Our wellbeing, our professional growth. He didn't get too stressed about things. He was forever asking for help with his phone or Word or Excel, but it was so adorable when he decided he wanted to learn to do a thing and just wanted our watchful eye to give him confidence. He in turn built our confidence. He had our backs. He was the best boss I ever had. When I was given staff to look out for, it's him who I tried to emulate. He passed last month, and the service is next month. I'm looking forward to seeing the old gang again even under sad circumstances.
She was legendary for sure, but in a chaotic narcissistic way, sometimes negatively, but not always. She did us alright this time though.

So smol

Found him in the skimmer this morning. My hand must feel more cozy than the basket as he chose to take a nap once I picked him up. I carried him across the street to the wildlife refuge marshy area. Be free, little 🐢

My Busch Gardens (The Olde Country™) name badge from 1996

BG was sponsoring the Atlanta Olympics that year, and some marketing person thought it would be a fun idea to put our home state on name badges as kind of a US ambassador-like gesture I guess for all the extra visitors the parks expected.
I don't know if we saw an increase in visitors that year. Williamsburg is like a 12 hour drive from Atlanta. But I did have one guy complain to me about the Italian food we sold in the cafeteria, that it was horrid, and his wife was Italian, and she couldn't eat this. Almost 30 years later and I still remember that guy. Why was he remotely expecting decent food at a theme park? I have no idea. And I still have Funiculì, Funiculà running through my head on occasion. Thanks BG.

I just realized why I and so many women sometimes carry things in our bras...because pockets on women's clothing is usually non-functional decoration
It's just a handy place to put my phone down for a second. Or stash a pen or a credit card.
Google tv screensaver at my FIL's

This came up in the rotation on the tv and it amused me. I tried asking it for a pattern but it was unresponsive 😂

There's "when the penny dropped" and someone can "drop a dime". What meaning would you give to dropping nickels and quarters?

A bluefin tuna about the size of a motorcycle has been sold for $1.3 million (207 million yen) at Japan’s most prestigious fish market, setting the second highest price on record during its new year auction.

I've squirreled something away and now I can't find it
I'm so frustrated with myself. No clue when was the last time I've seen this thing (wallet of crochet hooks). Yesterday I searched every project bag, every bag of my yarn stash, every drawer, nook and cranny where I might have put it absent-mindedly. I just went through them all again today. I have memories of seeing it on the breakfast table, on my desk (where the cat tried to annihilate the decorative tassle on its zipper), and in a project bag. I've moved it somewhere. I want to start a new project but need a hook of unusual size that is in the wallet. I haven't been motivated to crochet in a while, and I caught a spark over the weekend by finishing up another project. Blegh. Fuck.
Thank you for reading my rant while I wallow in self-loathing.
P.S. This thing is neon fucking pink and bigger than a paperback book. I must have a forgotten project bag smushed into a closet or left out in the camper. I thought I accounted for all my half-started projects though.

Bears pilfer MREs on Alaska military base
On Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (aka JBER aka "J-Bear"), a literal bear broke into a storage room and ransacked the MREs inside.
While not unusual to have bears encroaching onto base, it is unusual to have them breaking into buildings.
Another bear was discovered in the motor pool building... sitting in the front seat of a Humvee!
(...when you're a bear and you can't do drugs but you wanna go whee!)

Too little icing in the cinnamon roll package
I feel giddy. I had an idea and it worked beautifully.
Are you a fan of canned cinnamon rolls? Even as a half decent baker, I frequently don't want to spend the time making rolls from scratch and I just want one ▪︎right now▪︎. It never mattered if I made the 8 pack from Pillsbury with soft little delicious puffs of dough or the 5 pack of actual rolls holding generous shmears of cinnamon filling. Neither of those varieties ever comes with enough damn icing!
I scrape and I scrape the little plastic container but it empties too fast. I tried warming it a bit, liquifying the icing just barely and drizzling it over the buns to make sure I got every last molecule of sugar out. Too soon and the hot buns finish melting the icing and it all pools down on the plate. Not enough. It's never enough!
Then about a week ago, I had an epiphany during an all-nighter sugar craving. I recalled the tubs of cream cheese icing I hoarded from Lidl for when I want to make a quick batch of cupcakes.

What is your favorite memory from spooky season?
Mine would be the time my dad rigged a harness and "hung" himself from the carport beam, dressed to look like a stuffed Halloween decoration. He would grab at the bigger kids and parents when they came up to the door for candy. Scared the living bejeezus out of them.
I wonder if they dyed it this color or found sock yarn in hi-viz yellow?

Husband sent me this pic that he found on the site formerly known as Twitter. I'm impressed that they either found sock yarn/#10 thread in dayglo yellow, or that they used basic cotton thread and found dayglo yellow fabric dye.

Whoopsiedoodle!

A dramatic image captured from a VDOT camera showed the crashed tractor-trailer appearing to be leaning on an overhead highway sign.

...The semi was headed west when its raised bed slammed into the overhead sign near mile marker 200 as it approached the I-64/I-295 split.
Virginia State Police said the crash happened shortly after 9:30 a.m.
"The cab continued on and then stopped, obviously, because it had separated from the bed of the tractor-trailer," Matt Demlein, a spokesperson for Virginia State Police, said. "We're still investigating as to what led up to it actually hitting the sign. It was empty at the time."
Troopers do not know why the bed was raised or how long it was up before the crash. But officials said the truck had stopped at a weigh station about a mile earlier, which is equipped with cameras...

How do I know when it's time to call the "honey wagon"?
This might fit better in the DIY group but here goes.
How do I know when it's time to have the septic system pumped out?
We had a new one installed 3 years ago. It was an upgrade in size. I'm not sure the capacity. It was negotiated to be done as part of our purchase contract, and the old owners didn't give us a copy of their contract with the installer. Just the inspector's report that plans were adequate for the number of bathrooms we have.
There are only 2 of us. We don't put that much water into the system. But we've been having a LOT of rain. Over 5" in the last week and a half, and over 9" since Jul 1. Our elevation is between 1 and 4 ft (not a typo), so the water table is very close to the surface here.
I'm getting periods of methane smell in the house off & on for about a month now. I've run water to make sure all the traps aren't empty. It's possible it could be coming from the vent stack for the washing machine, but it's not all the time.
So with not a lo

What is the weirdest thing that your family does together?
When I was a kid, it'd have to be Memorial Day. All the extended family would convene at the old family cemetery to decorate the graves. That isn't the weird thing... the weird thing was we treated it as a family reunion and picnicked together among the head stones.
