detective Isaac Hanson, who found Backeberg, said he was able to locate her through her sister’s Ancestry.com account.
“That was pretty key in locating death records, census reports, all kinds of data,” Hanson told the news station, adding: “Ultimately, we came up with an address
I hate that about those genealogy sites: Someone else can give up your privacy for you. I found myself on one with a whole bunch of private info because some relative thought it was cool to put the whole family out there. They included kids, everyone's birthdays, maiden names, addresses, the whole shebang. All completely public for anyone to search for, without asking anyone if it was okay with them.
By APMA figuring, a compact SUV model Arrow could roll off a Canadian assembly line by 2029 with a sticker price of $35,000, he added, ready to be one of the two million cars sold each year in Canada.
2029? Too late. In my opinion, If they can't hit the market by the end of 2025, maybe 2026, they might as well walk away now.
If you don't want to take it to a mailbox, you can put it back in your own mailbox with the "return to sender - no longer at this address" on it. The mail carrier can pick it up when they deliver your mail next. If they seem to miss it, you can try putting a bright post-it note on it to make it stand out.
I don't really get what you're saying. Maybe a picture would help? Having worked with mouse pointers for three decades, I'm pretty sure it's either correct, or if you disagree then what you're choosing as the click pixel is arbitrary, and pointer style and implementation dependent. In any case, the user will generally learn the specific click behaviour very quickly, usually without even thinking about it.
I feel like there was a change in his demeanour in the last couple of years. It really showed up when he confronted that heckler on Parliament Hill. Not that the heckler didn't deserve it, or more tbh, but it just felt out of character for Singh. I mean, it was the kind of thing I would do... I really started to think he was on his way out at that point.
I think he did a good job as the leader of the NDP, and given the fear (on the left) of the Conservatives winning and the resultant strategic voting, I don't think many could have done a better job for the NDP in this election. He certainly used his third party prop power very effectively in the last few years.
I hope he can live in peace outside politics. He seems like a genuinely good dude.
League ‘hopeful’ to add 2nd expansion team ahead of next season
The Professional Women's Hockey League will expand to Vancouver and begin play next season, the league announced on Wednesday.
The decision to expand to Vancouver had been rumoured for weeks, and was finally confirmed at a press conference in downtown Vancouver on Wednesday morning. The official announcement was made by a local under-11 girls' hockey team. The girls crowded around a podium, waving signs to show how badly they wanted Vancouver to get a PWHL team, before announcing the news.
Vancouver was chosen as the seventh PWHL franchise after an eight-month process that saw expansion bids from groups in more than 20 cities.
A deeper look into Canada's long-standing high tariffs on certain US imports and why they don't actually apply to most current trade.
"If the countries took a true approach to reciprocating tariffs, then the US would simply copy Canada's tariff quota, which would mean that neither country would pay any more based on current trade balances"
A woman from Dunfermline has spoken of her shock after an Apple voice-to-text service mistakenly inserted a reference to sex - and an apparent insult - into a message left by a garage.
The is what Mrs Littlejohn saw on the voicemail screen in the Phone app on her iPhone after receiving a voicemail from the garage.
I find it funny how certain wordings will trigger the AI and others won't. It also gets it right for a bunch of numbers (which I checked after seeing this error).
Make up your mind Google AI. Is sound faster in air that is less dense or more dense?
Honestly, there is so much wrong in the AI answers that it's hard to know where to start, but the direct contradiction of itself seems like a good start.
This came up after a friend was playing a trivia game. We were looking up what colour the wedges were for the different categories in Trivial Pursuit and it came up with this gem.
Search is "trivial pursuit sports and leisure colour"
I know this has been an issue in the past, but it seems to have reared its ugly head again. Sorting posts by Hot (for my subscriptions) I get almost the same results as sorting by New.
I'll use other sorts as a workaround, but I usually like the hot sort.
More than $485 million in illicit drugs and drug ingredients seized in rural B.C. community
Some excerpts:
According to police, the amount of fentanyl and other materials seized would have amounted to more than 95,500,000 potentially lethal doses and worth an estimated $485 million in profit.
The "superlab" was located in the community of Falkland, B.C., an unincorporated community about 50 kilometetres east of Kamloops.
The Mounties say the bust is a "decisive blow" to those who organized it and that in addition to the facility in Falkland, several locations in Surrey were also searched.
Aside from the drugs, which included 54 kilograms of fentanyl, 390 kilograms of methamphetamine and 35 kilograms of cocaine, police also seized 89 firearms, several small explosives, body armour and $500,000 in cash.
