Class solidarity of the top 10%. They own the media, they want the Republican agenda of tax cuts, deregulation and whatever else make them more individually wealthy.
It's bottom ~70% who can't seem to figure out what class solidarity is
Nice guy and "nice guy" are two different things
The dictator thing doesn't mean much - the Chinese dictator seems to have the best interest of China, it's economy and it's people at the top of his priorities as far as I can tell, whereas the US's wanna be dictator cares about nothing but to enrich himself and his rich friends - not the long term success of the US or it's citizens.
I would happily resurrect Augustus and have his as the dictator of the US - but the problem with dictators isn't exactly the fact it's a dictator (assuming it's not a bad one), it's more of the fact that succession doesn't really work and you never know what you get next.
After Augustus, Rome had to deal with Tiberius and Caligula, then after Cladius, Rome had to deal with Nero. And so on and so on.
If the Republican/Conservative party wasn't so utterly broken and filled with the absolutely worst fucking people, maybe this democracy thing would work better, but here we are
Never underestimate the stupidity and mental gymnastics of conservatives
I can't speak to "emotional state", but the thottening is a real thing (I've spent weeks trying to stop having all these ass models from cluttering up my feed, it's impossible)
I'm convinced insta knows your a guy and will blast you with reels full of chicks no matter what you do.
Yeah, the Christ fanatics hate science and find science to be their bitter enemy, essentially
Fear that Trump tariffs will spark recession wipes out more than $2 trillion in value from US stocks
Right - first option survive the storm, next option... Murder? Steal? Pillage? (I'm stretching what you said, but it was implied). This is the very possible future we all might be living in, so again to OP's point about spiting your nose/face. Basically I find the moves of Trump to be catastrophic and the potential of where it might lead us is... Horrific
Fear that Trump tariffs will spark recession wipes out more than $2 trillion in value from US stocks
I'll take a stab at it:
- Local businesses will suffer across the board, might lead to this poor fella maybe loosing his already shit job.
-There won't be another job for him to take (see first point).
-He makes shit money so he has nothing saved up.
-social nets and government help is being systematically wiped out.
-It's the streets now, and for many others like him. Where does this lead? Massive uptick in crime, and a lot of crime everywhere. Everyone is fucked - those who currently care and those who currently don't care.
Shit like that, I'd probably not read too much into it. Some girls just like to fuck with people (people have been trolling before trolling was an internet term). She probably left laughing how she fucked with your head (yeah, some beautiful girls are fucking deeply ugly on the inside, and vice versa)
It's not like he really does anything except golfs, eats McDonald's, possibly gropes or sexually assaults young girls (some habits are hard to break - grab them by the pussy right?). He doesn't read, doesn't think - he basically signs whatever heritage foundation and his rich friends put in front of him to sign.
Looking at this through the lens of "how can the oligarchs benefit", it makes complete sense - Strip all government assistance, remove social nets, add tariffs that will basically kill most small businesses (think also farms, mom and pop shops, etc). Lead to depression, billionaires swoop in and buy up land/homes/business for pennies on the dollar (or just basically crush small businesses to get them out of the way). One couldn't design a better way to fuck over everyone and enrich the oligarchs
My guy, everything has changed and yet nothing has changed. You are arguing specifics while I'm arguing bigger picture. I'm not saying your wrong or I'm wrong, I just think we have a different view and measuring with a different kind of ruler, and yet I don't think we are really in disagreement, this seems to be arguing over semantics of what videos were in ~95 (very low res and shit quality fyi) and how many people had access to those shit quality videos - I'm just saying they were always there
It's still the same bullshit - people looking at text on their terminals. Be it SMS, be it discord, etc. people looking at images, listening to music, etc. inb4 "durr durr no 4k res in 95", no shit
I really don't know what your crusade is with this topic, but I actually do have(and still use) the same computer I had in the late 90's - SGI Indigo2 Extreme I got when I bought Alias PowerAnimator. Me and you were absolutely not doing the same stuff with our systems
My guy, wtf were you doing in the 90's on a computer? of course we didn't have streaming or just stupid useless videos that litter YouTube now, but there were video files all over the place to download and watch. For whatever reason, people were making the time and effort to digitize videos. Mpeg codecs came out in the early 90's - I specifically remember efnet irc members posting urls to mpegs of Weird Japanese vomit porn. Amiga scene was strong too, (video toaster came out in 1990...). Not really sure why you even feel the need to doubt any of this
But then we have to suffer dealing with them for a few billion years lol
Oh brother the Grammar nerds are here, as if that really takes away from what I'm saying.
In the mid and late 90's people knew how to make videos, they didn't link a YouTube URL but did post links to where one could find a video online, and IRC has bots that did file transfers, as well as people would use public ftp's as file dumping grounds.
I was there from the start, you must of never BBS'd or IRC'd - shit was amazing in the early days.
I mean honestly nothing has really changed - we are still at our terminals looking at text. Only real innovation has been inline pics, videos and audio. 30+ years ago one had to click a link to see that stuff
Great comment
I used to believe this too, but I'm not so sure anymore. Look at how pathetic and groveling Republicans are around Trump. The cult is real, the propaganda is strong, and people are weak minded.
I just can't help but think of that scene in Conan the Barbarian where Thulsa Doom shows Conan what is true power - people listening to his orders without any care for their wellbeing (the scene where the girl jumps to her death because Thulsa Doom told her to jump). People do this type of shit for religions, and a cult is a religion
