  • That's a lot, but by some back of the envelope math I calculated that American consumption of cheese alone uses four times that amount in a year.

Based on this, 4 oz of cheese uses 450 liters of water. https://foodprint.org/blog/dairy-water-footprint/

Based on this, the average American consumes 41 lbs of cheese per year. Each lb of cheese uses 1800 liters of water per the above. https://www.statista.com/statistics/183785/per-capita-consumption-of-cheese-in-the-us-since-2000/

That means that each US citizen uses 73,800 liters of water per year on cheese alone.

Multiply that by 340E6, the US population, you get 25 trillion liters of water per year. That's 25 billion cubic meters of water a year.

Not that AI is environmentally friendly by any stretch, but dairy is the equivalent of like, a dozen AI industries all stacked on top of each other. Feel free to check my math and correct me as needed.

  • Does it? To me it gives the impression they forgot to change the name of the option before release. Gender is referenced used everywhere in the game, they didn't really remove it. If they did, then maybe I'd agree.

  • I go to protests at my courthouse every week man. Like you said they never stop, but it also doesn't stop what's happening.

It hasn't stopped what happened to the federal government, and it wouldn't stop a military takeover of Canada. The kind of fighting we need is considered "disruptive" by almost everyone, and there's never enough people willing to do it. Not to mention the fraction of people who protest or do anything at all is so fucking small that I'm comfortable saying by and large, Americans are not fighting.

Edit: It probably was inappropriate for me to come out with "bitch" right out the gate, sorry about that. It felt comedically appropriate but probably wasn't the best lol

  • I think the issue is you're waiting for the negatives to be equal to the surplus of one month, when the trend (from three points of data so do with that what you will) is negative. So, ostensibly, after enough months of negatives, there will be much, much more negative than positives.

  • Wow, you really can't make this up. Two paragraphs about how they need to foster "viewpoint diversity", whatever that means, and they need to keep hiring faculty and admitting students until they have it, followed by a paragraph saying "no diversity in skin color is allowed".

Like, are they are saying a physics department needs to have equal number of physicists and fucking dumbasses, but God forbid the department keep track of numbers to make sure they're not systematically ignoring black applicants.

  • I've noticed mine got worse for some reason in the last five years. So many words that I've had no issue spelling I've lost confidence in spelling and need to look it up. Happened around COVID for me, not sure why.

  • Well the rest of the Republicans voted to censure them from the senate and ban them from the party. So as it turns out, there really are only extreme Republicans. If they aren't extreme they're banned from participating in the party.
