  • You don't have to be grownup to be a princess. In fact, if you were a princess in the middle ages, you didn't even have to be grown up to be in an arranged marriage designed to make your parents richer. Your body could be sold at any age.

  • Step 1: raise reality consciousness of the working class
Step 2: mutual aid and practice magic
    Step 3: communist revolution
Step 4: as a communist society, develop further technologies of mind and machine to further unchain our perceptions

Archimedes said "give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to balance it, and I shall move the earth". I believe science will give us ever more power over our experiences. I already use the astral plane to be Myself, we need to increase access to magical technology and perform more research.

  • He's a god. An evil one. Humanity creates gods when they worship ideas. Donald Trump isn't a man, he's an idea, festering in the minds of millions of people. His power comes from that belief and reverence. His followers commit all these crimes in his name, and THAT is what it means to be a god.

  • Yes, much in the same way that syndicalism or mutualism are anarchism with extra steps. Soulists are anarchists who are a little more open minded, and willing to challenge a couple more hierarchies. Realism, the belief in an objective universe, is the root of all conservativism, and must be destroyed in order to reach liberation.

  • This is true, and this is false - source: me?”

No, I don't have the expertise in indigenous metaphysics to write that dialogue. It was written by James Cross after many long conversations we had about soulism and Tiwi beliefs.

Soulism, put simply, is the theory that hierarchy is bad, and reality is a hierarchy we have the ability to abolish. You can read My manifesto on soulism at http://soulism.net/

As to why I made this comic? If you go to the polcompball wiki page on soulism, you'll see a disclaimer stating that soulism is fictional. The soulist community has had many arguments with the wiki's admin team about this label. Today, this comic suddenly came to Me, and I just had to draw it. I thought I might post it somewhere on Lemmy. Blahaj's soulism community was deleted by the admins, and this was the next best place. I do wish I'd been able to post it to a Lemmy community where the background required to fully appreciate the meme was more normalised, but such communities seem not to last very long. Last year I attempted to create lemmy.soulism.net, but I ran into problems with the cost of VPSes.

    Fictional ideologies club

Explanation: Marxism-Leninism is a fictional ideology invented by Joseph Stalin. Anarcho-Capitalism is a fictional ideology invented by Murray Rothbard. Soulism, contrary to popular perception, is a coherent ideology practiced by actual people who (unwillingly) live in the real world. In My conversations with Indigenous Australians, I've learned Soulism bears a remarkable similarity to the metaphysical views of certain Aboriginal nations, especially the Tiwi people, which have been stable and which have guided entire societies over many thousands of years.

  • When I see a little girl getting excited about Disney princesses and wanting to be one, I see a child being sexually groomed. It's disgusting and it needs to stop. It's abusive. We shouldn't be exposing children to these kinds of messaging. We need to be aware of what our words mean, so we can use them wisely.

USA, Russia, and China are part of the same "psychological continent" - Toward a Psychological Atlas of the World With Mixture Modeling

This article presents findings based on the outcomes of research conducted with 8,883 participants from 33 countries. It employs mixture modeling (latent profile analysis) to classify countries into latent classes. The country-level analyses are based on three social attitudes factor scores of Nastiness, Religiosity, and Morality. The results indicate that the main sources of cross-cultural differences are with respect to a broadly defined Conservatism/Liberalism. Three groups of societies—that is, “psychological continents”—appear to exist in the world today. They are as follows: (a) liberal European countries plus Canada and Australia; (b) conservative countries from South and South-East Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America; and (c) all other countries, including the United States, Russia, and China, that are in between liberal and conservative groups. In addition, gross domestic product (GDP) per capita, cognitive test performance, and governance indicators were found to be

Just found out I wasn't registered as an organ donor

I just got a message from Medicare inviting Me to register as an organ donor. I thought I already was. I remember ticking the organ donation box when I first applied for My drivers license.

If I'd have died in the last few years, My organs wouldn't have saved any lives. Who knows how many other people want to donate but aren't registered? I think Australia should have an opt-out system instead of an opt-in system, so that people don't need to make an effort in order to do the right thing. Doing the right thing should be easy.

  • I believe that we can know things. I just don't believe we can know things objectively. We need a better standard for knowledge than objectivity, because objectivity is worthless.

    I can't subscribe to a community I'm unbanned from

This is a simple software bug. You see, the way Lemmy federates is that updates to a community only federate to instances that have a user subscribed to that community. If you take a community like [email protected], I'm the only person on all of Aussie Zone who subscribed to it. I know it because when I subscribed, we started getting updates from Blahaj.Zone about that community.

A few days ago, I was mistakenly banned from that community. And this caused Blahaj.Zone to stop sending our instance updates on the community. I spoke with the admin of the community and got unbanned, but the unban didn't federate. The instance will only let us know I'm unbanned if someone here subscribes over there. And I can't subscribe, because this server thinks I'm banned. It's a deadlock. If it wasn't for the ban, I could subscribe and the server would realise there isn't a ban anymore. But I can't, because this server thinks there is still a ban.

A moderator of a community on Blahaj misgendered Me and I can't report it.

Two hours ago I made a post to [email protected] about US politics. I had previously had a good relationship with the head moderator of this community. They've encouraged My political posts, and he's removed comments by people that misgendered Me, and reminded people of My pronouns, like in this thread two days ago:

However, an hour ago in this new thread, the same moderator who was telling people to respect My capitalised pronouns uses lowercase pronouns to address Me:

And he has left up earlier comments which also seemed to misgender Me, and which I specifically pointed out:

Even as some users in the thread gender Me correctly:

I'm making this thread in the main community because

    Nonexistent moderation on Beehaw /c/neurodivergence

c/neurodivergence isn't being moderated at all lately. Three months ago there was the great post from [email protected] concerning ableism against people with NPD, and the amount of toxicity I saw in that thread was shocking. Some great people pushing back on the ableism and hate there, but I couldn't believe those hateful comments were being left up, or the sheer volume of them.

Yesterday I posted a new article I wrote also concerning NPD, hoping I would get the same kind of positive response I've gotten from Beehaw in the past when talking about neurodiversity. But instead I saw nothing but hate, personal attacks, and vicious toxicity. This isn't the kind of discourse I come to Beehaw to see, and I don't think I'm alone.

Looking at the community history, it looks like the post volume has dramatically reduced since immediately before that first NPD post. I'm not surprised people are avoiding the community, I don't intend to use it anymore either if what I received yes
