  • Don't you think it's much easier to leverage an ephemeral resource like coal or oil? What you frame as China acquiring leverage is better framed as a loss of leverage by the titans of oil. Time is going to cause that leverage to be lost eventually anyway, so maybe we should be planning for that? Or maybe we should let the people interested in short term gain draft the policy and complain that China is eating our cake.

  • This reminds me of an article in a mainstream newspaper I read about BYD, that claimed beating China might be more important than winning the war on climate change. Can't we be happy about technological progress, no matter where it comes from? Nationalism is regressive.

  • I don't like the focus on the culling of male chicks, sure it's terrible, but how we raise and exploit the hens is such a larger moral travesty that that should be the focus. We also shouldn't hope for hens to live for a decade. Currently existing hens who can be rescued sure, but the modern egg laying hen should not exist the same way certain dog breeds shouldn't exist, we have selected them for our pleasure rather than their own health and livelihood.

  • You're making the same mistake as many Americans themselves do and confusing Democrats in general and the left. I didn't think leftists were the ones who kicked Bernie to the curb. The left in America is very small but they do protest, do mutual aid, and form unions. You could argue they aren't doing enough and when things get bad enough it's time for terrorism, but that's big talk when you are sitting behind a computer.

  • My previous two phones were from OP and they were both great. I was tempted to get the OP13, mostly because of the battery, just couldn't justify spending that much on a smartphone at the moment when I already have one that works.

  • It can be useful to get worked up about things. Rather than dwell on something it can be cathartic to play into your emotions in the moment and let them release themselves, and practicing this allows you to do it internally with a straight face.

If you forgot something you were just thinking about a few minutes ago try thinking about what you were thinking about before that, it might activate the same train of thought. It's like thinking about what you were doing before you set your keys down rather than where you put your keys.

  • This is not a proper dichotomy as organic isn't about level of processing, it deals with farming conditions and species.

Also processing a spectrum. For example a smoothie and juice are both processed fruit but the smoothie has everything that the whole foods have in it while the juice is missing some of the nutrients, notably the fiber. If you then add refined sugar to that juice to make it more palatable that is further processing, and if you reduce that juice to a jelly that is further processing, with each of these processing stages you are making the food more calorically dense. Processing can also make a food easier to eat or improve the nutrition though, processing isn't inherently a good or bad thing but it very often is one of those.

  • Printing more money and using it for public works or giving it directly to the poor could be a valid form of wealth redistribution that doesn't require collecting taxes. The problem of course is capital, it's immune to this kind of inflation, though rich people who have their wealth in debt would be hurt.

  • The reason progressive liberals believe that people to the left of them are actually the right wing is because they imagine they are as far left as you can be, and by left they mean right (correct).

Am I misunderstanding these features or do they just not work?

I have "Show Read Posts" toggled off and "Mark Read on Scroll" toggled on. I would think that after scrolling past a bunch of posts and then refreshing that would then clear those posts from my feed, but it doesn't seem to be working. Am I misunderstanding this feature? And if so can we get something like it? I do not want to see the same thing over and over again but I also don't want to manually hide every post.

What team did you use in the Aetherium Wars championship?

Automaton Spider was the core of my team, it's increasing speed means it eventually is taking 4 turns per enemy turn. This is broken in combination with the Attack Interception expansion. The other expansion I went with was Computation Lock for a free 75% attack.

The overlord unit I used was the Aurumaton Gatekeeper. If you equip it with Saturated Activation and Sudden Injection then on its first turn it can debuff all enemies and massively delay two of them, this gives Spider the time it needs to ramp.

I used Bubbles for sustain, their damage doesn't matter so I equiped them with Firewall and Safe Mode for 100% increased health to empower their heals and soak. I gave them Functional Overdraft so they can heal significantly more often. And since they take their turn frequently they are holding Deep Clean for team cleanse.

My last unit wasn't as important to the team as the other three, but it was a Silvermane Cannoneer. They will always get their max follow ups off if they use skill
