I'm just visiting the Algarve.
Luckily I found some store that had a free open wifi network (they had a server room so still had power). There were people lining up to use payphones (interestingly they still have them here).
Otherwise, no wifi, no data, no phone network, so no information on the whole situation. Can't pay by card. Had a bag of chips for dinner because I can't cook. Couldn't book accommodation or a bus. Shops used pen, paper and calculator but took only cash. People barely have cash at hand and ATMs were out too.
I don't know what I could've done without money if this would have lasted even longer.

Yes, often around 10 kg. Depends on the airline I guess. Though I never saw them check.

Cabin bags have a weight limit too

Once, our classroom (early teens) had to get changed in a large, shared changing area for a swimming pool. One of those clingy volunteering mothers walked around, pointing out where we didn't dry wel enough, touching, "helping" boys etc. But, she had two boys of her own and "there was nothing she hadn't seen before". Very uncomfortable.
Somehow I don't think it would be accepted for me to walk into little girls changing saying "don't worry, it's nothing I haven't seen before".
Same for those cleaning ladies cleaning right behind me while taking a piss in a urinal. It feels weird.
Oh well, we're just men, right? So who cares?

Yeah, 10 years ago you could get a meal for €4. Now you pay double. Beer prices tripled. Not to mention supermarkets, rent etc.

Portugal, Bosnia and other get non-EU Balkan countries are good. You'll still find people backpacking there. Most of western Europe is too expensive for that.

I've been in Prague for 10 years and never came across any kind of scam.
Also, prices have gone up a lot in recent years, it's not that cheap anymore.

In many cases, you have to disable the privacy setting (hops) to be able to download anything. Probably because it still hasn't attracted a lot of users.
They switched from a client application to a web interface in a recent update, which I'm not a fan of (mainly because I'm blocking right click hijacking in my browser).
It's nice to add an extra layer of security, imo, but I wouldn't rely on it completely if you're in one of those countries where ISPs don't respect your privacy.

Just got some from a vending machine in Spain. Also in France some time ago. Pretty sure they're all over. Only difference is that Germany really has them everywhere.

I prefer one L in traveling. There's an unstressed shwa sound and it makes no sense to double the consonant after. It almost implies the stress falls on the vell part.

Yeah it's mostly Indian recruiters. Just hear them out when they contact you. They actually need people. When I apply for vacancies, I got nothing. Never heard about payback schemes or anything.
I'm normally not very lucky. Maybe it helps to look like you're not that interested?

In-person interviews are not a thing anymore since the pandemic, from what I've seen. LinkedIn is the place to go. Recruiters will schedule a call and they'll usually remind you an email is on the way.
I don't want to work. I want to take a year off. Yet, I got a job interview and I'm not even looking.

or for the selfish reason that it would make your socioeconomic situation more difficult?
No. My kid will grow up in a bad place and I won't have time to spend with it. I don't have a pet for the same reasons.

Population growth is not my main concern. If I have to live in a filthy city, work full-time and barely have money to support myself, I don't see why I should consider having a child.

People that don't want children usually think of the potential wellbeing of a future human. People that do want children, usually do so for selfish reasons. It makes sense people who think of environment or other people are more lefties.

Probably because being efficient and effective are not profitable. One requirement for my studies was being present. All those boring hours spent looking out of the window can be counted to study hours. That won't work when you can work in your own pace at home.

I tried Heliboard but went back to SwiftKey. It's the best keyboard I've found. It's from Microsoft but I have internet access disabled in Tracker Control and it works fine with multiple languages, swipe and emoji.

If you've lived through covid, you would have seen that people just don't give a fuck about sick and old people.
