Finally got a chance to run an imsa fixed race at silverstone

Finally got a chance to run an imsa fixed race at silverstone! in iracing.

Weather said rain unlikely: that was a lie.

It lightly rained the whole race.

Qualified P2 with a lucky lap in the wet, but fell back to P3 at the start of the race.

Tried to overcut P2, but didn't have the pace.

P3 finish in the LMP2 class.

Super fun race.

  • Nice! NASCAR is super fun to run. I mainly run road races, but ever so often I enjoy oval shenanigans.

Yeah it definitely takes some time to get back in the groove, but nows a great time of the year to get back into it.

    Happy racing!

    how'd your week go?

Week 6 of Season 4, 2024: Got in a few races.

Started off with IndyCar Fixed at Long Beach, started 9th and finished 6th.

Next, IMSA Fixed at Road Atlanta (one of my favorite tracks!), started 14th and finished 11th.

Ended the week strong with a P3 finish in the PCC at Road Atlanta!

    How was your week?

  • Alright fair enough. Though it seems this whole thing feels a bit fabricated. Alot of local people said they were booing not max but Gregg abbot who was presenting as a lot of people do not like him, however it's being spun as max being the target.

  • Don't drivers usually have some sort of body guards pretty often? I've seen lewis with guards before but it wasn't at mexico.

  • Oh hell yeah I love it. Now we need an F3, and sf23 lmao cheers

hey all, I've been using the Buttkicker Gamer Plus for a few weeks, and I must say it's honestly been a great addition to my sim racing setup.

For those who may not be familiar with it, this device allows users to physically feel sensations through vibrations. The Buttkicker Haptic System can replicate sensations like engine vibrations, tire slip, the texture of the road, and gear shifts, elevating the virtual driving experience to a whole new level of realism and engagement.

A more in-depth review, with pictures, here!

    TLDR!

    • Provides feedback where it is essential (tire slip, etc)
    • Performance Boost: Improves driving skills and lap times(I find myself at a negative delta when its turned off, eventually I get back to pace)
    • Considerations: It makes noise, so depending on living situations, it i

Stowable Simracing Rig: A Foldable Solution for When Space is Tight!

hey all, I have seen a couple of comments discussing foldable simracing rigs. I've had the chance to get my hands on the Next Level Racing GT-Lite Foldable Simracing Rig, so I wanted to share some insights.

If you want to dive deeper into this, check out a more detailed review with more pictures right here!

    tldr:

    • Assembly: Putting it together is a breeze, and it's versatile enough to work with various setups.
    • Adjustments: You've got some flexibility in customizing your wheel and pedal positions, but the backrest angle is set in stone.
    • Comfort: It's pretty convenient, but it does make a few comfort sacrifices in the name of portability.
    • Space Savings: If you're tight on space, this rig is a godsend. It folds up neatly for effortless storage.
    • Conclusion: Looking for a robust and portable solution to brin

  • If only their UI wasn't so trash I'd only ever use weather.gov

  • ATM beeper Facebook bridge works fine. Use it daily. I'd prefer to self host beeper/matrix/bridges but haven't had time to set it up and got an invite to beeper a few weeks ago.

  • I just posted a similar response but I think the issue, at least for me, is how deep into the weeds I get with each subject. Anyone can be into coffee for example, but it's the ones who do the research and watch the videos about the subject in their free time, that make a simple thing such as coffee become more of an obscure thing. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  • Seems like every hobby is too obscure for most to care at the level I do. Sim racing, rtlsdr, self hosting, ANY kind of motorsports, home automation, blogging, DND, video games... At the surface these are not too obscure but I find very few people in my day to day life that care about them in detailed way

  • Wow that's really neat. I'll check it out then. Cheers
