  • Seems the people who interviewed him didn't even think he had too much potential for the NFL lmao

One longtime NFL assistant coach said his time with Sanders was "the worst formal interview I've ever been in in my life. He's so entitled. He takes unnecessary sacks. He never plays on time. He has horrible body language. He blames teammates. ... But the biggest thing is, he's not that good.

  • Op, this is it. The franchise has been around for decades and covers many historical eras. Recently they got into fantasy and did well with it, though personally I prefer the historical titles with the dynamic dueling.

Like Dr_Nik said, battles are either RTS style that you can choose to control, let ai take over and observe the battle instead, or you can autoresolve and skip a battle entirely. The overall gameplay is similar across each game, but the mechanics and ai behavior vary wildly across titles. If you don't like one game, pick up another and you'll probably love it

  • I've had insomnia since I was teenager, and have used cannabis for that and some other medical issues since then. My health impacts my sleep, which obviously makes my insomnia worse. Cannabis helps with sleeping until your tolerance is high, so my tip for making it work is to swap types of cannabis each time you buy - not just changing strains. So if you buy indica one time, buy an indica-dominant strain the next time. Obviously the terps will give you a better idea, but that's an easy place to begin.

Unfortunately, I can't stop taking cannabis until I'm fixed. So my tolerance is high and will stay high for the foreseeable future. But even if you've done all of the above and still can't get to sleep, try meditating after smoking. Not in the traditional sense, but in the sense that as you try to fall asleep, take big deep breaths and force individual muscle groups to relax. As you take a few breaths, force your neck and head to relax, then your shoulders and chest, etc. Focus on just that, and it will help somewhat. If that doesn't work, I'm truly sorry. I have those nights every now and then, so I understand how debilitating it can be.

  • I help manage a fleet of Rivian vans for work. As amazing as they are, the subfreezing temps can make it really difficult to have an electric fleet. It's worth it, but so many issues come up because of the slow charging in winter. I'm hopeful this type of engineering can be scaled and successful, because that's one of the only issues I have with electric vehicles.

  • If you think being altruistic has to be worth something to do it, then you're not an altruistic type of person. Being altruistic means doing what one believes is right and helping others regardless of any reward or value gained or lost.

  • While the American Left has been shifting right for the past few decades, were you even around during W. Bush's presidency? Progressives today want exactly what W. Bush campaigned against - proper climate policies and social / welfare safety nets.

  • Yet the US military is one of the single largest polluters on the planet. Yes they spearhead a lot of climate research, but then there are departments that will throw away $100m like I throw away a nickel. The amount of greenhouse gases produced by them in a single year is more than you or I or anyone you see or know will produce in a whole lifetime combined.

  • The title is vague, so here's the title of the actual study the article is based on:

Weaponizing the Workplace: How Algorithmic Management Shaped Amazon's Antiunion Campaign in Bessemer, Alabama

Also, the problem isn't the algorithms used for the work. The problem is the metrics they expect employees to consistently hit. The technology isn't the problem, they just expect too much from their employees.

  • I went through that for a few years once. You start to distrust yourself and your emotions, and the spiral only deepens. I remember all I would do is work, sometimes eat, sometimes shower, and go to bed. I was just a shell of a person, and I don't want that for anyone. No one can truly understand unless they've had it. It was a long struggle, but I eventually made it out. I hope you do the same.

  • They're not justifying racism, they're explaing how the US has gotten to where it is today and why people act as they do. The culture here regarding it is different compared to most parts of Europe, and people generally are trying very much to combat these issues. But as this is a deeply cultural and historical undertaking in the US, a lot of change - cultural, political, or otherwise - will happen very slowly and will not always appear progressive. Despite recent events, the US has generally - though not always - been making small steps in the right direction here. Seit du Deutsch bist, weißt du, Fortschritt ist kompliziert.

  • I currently have femoroacetabular impingements, a torn labrum in my left hip, back spasms, and nerve damage throughout my left leg. For my work, I have to pay bills and rent while medical-leave pay only covers 70% of my income. I can barely save enough as it is, so I keep working.

I've already had one surgery with two more expected, the final one ideally being a new hip. I'll use my personal time for recovery and stretch it out with medical leave as needed, but I can't afford to stop right now. Eventually I want to buy a house and marry my girlfriend.

  • I tried to rewatch the show for the first time last month since the show ended. I told myself that it couldn't have been so bad after it began to increasingly deviate from the books, that I was just upset about it at the time.

Nope. I barely made it through S5 and while S6 had its moments, I realized I was only watching for a couple great moments instead of for the sake of watching it. I just wasn't enjoying it, so I stopped. In earlier seasons, epic moments like these were everywhere. It's no wonder the show alone built such a large fanbase early on

  • I work Logisitcs Management and manage 200+ drivers for last-mile deliveries for a large company. I don't like the company but I take pride in my work and the projects that I manage, but I'm using it as a stepping-stone for something better in the future
