  • I'm with you on this. It's kinda ugly, but kinda neat. If it wasn't made so shitty, wasn't a safety hazard, and wasn't associated with a nazi, I don't think it would get any more hate than any other pickup. But for looks, I'll take ugly over boring any day.

Best matte buttons for OLED deck?

The glossy dpad and ABXY buttons are too slick IMO. Does anyone know of good matte textured buttons? Preferably in just plain black but I'm not picky.

I did see the new extreme rate oled buttons but I haven't found anything describing their texture. Plus I'm not sold on clear buttons

Can I hire a landscaper to design and plan but build it myself?

My wife and I are quite shit at design but are pretty handy. We recently bought a house, and we want to make the backyard a great hang out spot, but have no idea how to make it look good. I contacted a local landscaper about just paying for a design/plan and we would just DIY it but they never called us back. Is this an okay thing to hire for? Or do landscapers usually want to do the work themselves?

  • This post made me try again to find a solution, and maybe a USB extension cord with a on/off switch could work. It's not automated but would be more convenient than removing the dongle each time. I'm thinking something like this

  • I have this exact same problem, but with a Chevy bolt. Some cars USB ports are "always on" and some aren't. Might be worth trying different ones and see if there's a port that doesn't power on randomly. This didn't work on my car, but it's a common solution I came across when I was trying to figure it out. For now, I've just reverted back to wired AA.

  • Yeah, I can see how it could be seen that way. I'm thinking more along the lines of "Dave performs for money. Someone wants to pay a lot of money for a special performance, and it doesn't affect any of his other shows so of course he would do it". IMO what Dave did isn't unethical, but I can see how it could be seen that way. But I also think if the article was "Amazon Execs bought a multi million dollar yacht after massive layoffs", no one would be blaming the yacht manufacturer. Just the execs.

Best way to share scad files that use external libraries?

I want to post my design on Printables but my scad file uses a threads library found here. Should I just add a comment above the "use" statement with a link on where to get the library?

Made a aviator cable mount to keep my coils alligned

My coiled cable likes to rotate which makes the coil messy. This little 3d print I made keeps it nice and tidy. Hope it helps anyone with similar issues. You can find the files here: https://www.printables.com/model/433584-coiled-cable-lockaligner

  • Nothing online I've found is interesting. But I bought a pack of "Student Driver" magnets, and put it on my car enthusiast friends Porsche. Haven't heard anything yet, so im hoping its still on. Might throw a new one on whenever I notice its gone.

  • It's not a "worse" display. It's a different display. The only point is that if you want an e-ink phone (either for readability or battery life) this is one of the only options. Assuming it actually launches at least.

  • I know with the v4 tesla chargers that has the adapter built in, non-teslas couldn't use them until the manufacturers made an agreement. Maybe it's the same here? Where you can get an adapter and if your car brand has already made the deal with tesla you're good to go. Unless Ford put software in their adapter to only work on ford's.

  • I think it's because someone who takes enough Road trips to use something like that would properly just get a regular plug in hybrid. That being said, this might be coming soon for ev trucks actually. The dodge ram ev is going to have a gas powered range extender, and I believe ford has patented a bed mounted version for its ev truck.

  • These still exist, for now at least. Just not any flagship phones. My Oneplus nord n30 has all of this (well idk if the fingerprint sensor is ultrasonic, it's on the side and fast though). And I'm pretty sure a lot of Motorola phones have these as well. Only downside is not the best processors or cameras, but are good enough for me at least.

Help finding a suitable streaming box

Looking for recommendations on a streaming box to connect my TV to plex. I have a lot of 4k blu ray rips averaging 80-100mbps and I'm struggling to find a client that can handle it. First I had a Roku, which had network bandwidth issues. So I moved to the new fire stick 4k max, which still buffers like crazy. I don't think its network related because its pulling 500mbps down, and my laptop (which pulls 300 down) can stream it just fine. So any recommendations on a tv streaming box? I've seen the Nvidia shield, and the Mecool KM2 plus deluxe but want to get some opinions before buying anything. Thanks!
