Penn & Teller's short video on vaccinations should be required viewing for every anti-vax idiot in the land.
The House has voted to overturn a rule that would have limited bank overdraft fees to $5, following the Senate in moving to dismantle the Biden-era regulation that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau had estimated would save consumers billions of dollars.
Reminds me of that Yogi Berra quote: "In theory, theory and practice are the same thing. In practice, they're not."
If you believe the idiots on r/conservative, this is all part of his plan.
It's really amazing how the GOP members of Congress have willingly given up their power.
"Let's see if doom-scrolling the imminent collapse of the world order as we know it manages to lull me into a peaceful slumber."
Brilliant spin on the "Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln..." riff.
Love it!

Today: "...they will be deleted after Alexa processes your requests."
Some point in the not-so-distant future: "We are reaching out to let you know that your voice recordings will no longer be deleted. As we continue to expand Alexa's capabilities, we have decided to no longer support this feature."
It's not a story that ByteDance would tell you.
Jeanne Shaheen already announced that she's not running for reelection...and she STILL voted for the CR. Not to mention that 4 of the other Dems are from the bluest of states.
What fucking bullshit.
Wouldn't it have been better for them to wait until cars were fully self-driving? I suspect they were just trend-chasing.
The best argument I've heard against Dems filibustering the CR is that a filibuster would mean that they would - in the eyes of the public - take responsibility for the shutdown, and that the public would blame them for EVERYTHING wrong with the country now, including all of the Trump/Musk messes.
Which is insane to me. Allowing the CR to go through would cause much more direct harm, show that the Dems don't really care about opposing this insanity, and - if we're worried about PR - allow the GOP to blame future problems on Biden since they're marketing the CR as a continuation of Biden's budget when it's really nothing of the sort.
This is precisely the time to use the filibuster. If the GOP wants to remove it, let them. They'll own it, and if the Dems ever get back into power, it'll help them tremendously.
Thank you!
(Though, to be fair, I'm not sure how much they deserve to be thanked for undoing a change that should never have been made in the first place.)

‘Your body, my choice’: Attacks on women surge on social media following election
The use of misogynistic and abusive phrases targeting women, like “your body, my choice” and “get back to the kitchen,” has spiked across social media in the days since Donald Trump’s reelection, according to an analysis from the Institute for Strategic Dialogue.
In an interview with NBC News, the former president also said that a push by RFK Jr. to remove fluoride in water “sounds OK to me.”

Donald Trump repeatedly lied about single-payer health care — an idea he and Harris both previously supported but no longer do.
Is there a way to read all of Trump's Truth Social posts without actually visiting the site?
That is, is there an archive or a mirror somewhere? I don't want to give him the traffic.
Is there a website that collects Donald Trump's most incoherent speeches and tweets?
Sorry if this is the wrong community for this. I'm looking for a compilation of Trump's most rambling moments (e.g., "Look, having nuclear"; Gettysburg being beautiful; etc.). Does anyone know of any sites that would have something like this? Thank you!
