Fan of breaking echo chambers by being devils advocate. Other than that, centrist. As in in USA I'd be considered left.

  • Humans have no business being in holes

Thus, sex became forbidden, and humanity declined, with last generation asking their ancestors why would they impose such harsh ban upon them shortly before extinction.

  • It's okay.

  • A lot of folk treat toilet as their sanctum. You are alone in there. Nobody is gonna bother you, it's just you and your thoughts. You can take a breather, let out a good, long shit and allow yourself to become calmer. When ready, go out to face the world again.

  • Driving with a bike, sometimes it hits me. So i push myself to constantly speed, thus introducing change. If I rode always with the same speed, it would probably quickly fall into it.

Cars however also shield you from outside variables. You don't have to fight unnecessarily mean wind in your face going uphill when in car. You don't fight against your limits. You just...go, and in traffic at that so there's really not much to notice.

Start. Stop. Start. Stoo. Start. Stop.

Wonder how people can forget such fascinating experience...

  • Polosh self checkout:

    1. One cashier per 6-8 machines, on watch to take care of age verification or occasional lockuo
    2. Machines do lock up when weight doesn't match...and unlock when scale decides that it's okay after all. Happens sometimes with lighter things, or when someone fucks up values in software (once met error where buns were 900g per piece xD Cashier gal was busyyyy that day, had their fixed code, but until it got into menu, they had to punch it themselves)
    3. Age verification, of course, is there
    4. There's only scale. Sometimes you need to also scan your receipt to leave. That's all.

Sometimes that cashier taking care of self checkouts even gets their own command center - console that can allow to give age verification without physically moving or to bypass weight alerts (useful when cashier sees from far away you carry, for example, hair bands. )

  • Standard lemmy problem. Or any specialist really. "Of course everybody knows about fingerprinting! That's the most basic knowledge!"

My brother, more and more folk today don't even use PC, they consoom whatever their android/iOS spits at them xD

  • Wikipedia is too liberal.

Web encyclopedia is too free in sourcing actual information.

Can we rewind to 2010? I know these weren't really that great either, but world didn't burn and I was a lot more ignorant.

Edit: As one person below me noticed, I drawn fun at the level of idiotism that these sentences bear. Sadly, it was a subtle humor.

  • ...i have slight beef with that.

    1. We made cars more complicated than they need to be due to electronic systems and all that. I don't say that we should simply go back, that's dumb. But I cannot help but wonder if a line of simple, less advanced ICE cars promoted on their ease of maintenance wouldn't get popular with, for example, rural folks. After all, being able to fix the beast yourself would lover your costs a lot.
    2. Walkable cities are great, I know cause I live in one. My city (or town?) has around 7 km length (at least the parts that matter). Distance an average person can go in ~70, maybe 80 minutes by foot. But if I wanted to hit the relatively nearby lake or beach, getting there by foot is another story. And yeah, bikes exists and make it easier but if I need to hit another city that is 60km from here...yeah.
    3. Author also forgot that these companies won't fail, because these are not "one and only" of each in the world. Each contry, hell, each county has multiple of them. It's highly unrealistic for them to all fail at the same time.
  • As far as I know, the game is also a good remaster. Friend bought and is enamoured, people in reviews are happy. The only downside is that it's resource intensive, but welp...

Funniest review I've seen for now was dude that bought it being below specs and still managed to moan that game works like shit. xD

  • Yes? You don't?

This is my default walking speed. I acutally hurt my feet more when walking slower, because I am unused to it. When I tried to push myself somewhat, I went...okay, imma gonna use metric, can't be bothered to convert, but 5,5 km averaging 7 km/h.

    Weird game behaviour

Sooo...I'd normally look around the web to see if someone had something similiar happen to it but I am not sure how to put it in querable sentence...

Basically maps are out of wack when my partner plays. Lua infiltration? Some doors you need to unlock, she has unlocked from the start - the chandelier thingy you need to shoot down to punch a hole in the floor? It's down at the start of the game for her. On the other hand on Zariman we found out she has some of the maintenance passages closed, even though they're open for me.

I...am not sure what the heck is going on. Did someone had something like this happen to them? Her game updates normally so I dunno if it's something in the settings or what.
