If you check the modlog the user [email protected] was moderator for 7 minutes two days ago. Not sure what's going on with that.
c/Football also had a fairly inactive Admin but the community managed to get in touch with him and he appointed a second mod who has been much more active. That seems like the best way to go. And in general this place will probably be too large soon for a single mod anyway, especially considering F1 needs coverage across multiple time zones.
The moderator of this sub was at least active today, so they are not completely absent. However, with the amount of activity here and considering how absent they appear throughout the week (and nothing wrong with being busy IRL!) it would probably be a good idea to get in touch with them and see if we can appoint another mod or two to lighten the load.
I think Perez looks a bit uncomfortable in the wet. Wasn't it Canada quali as well where he just couldn't find the grip and bailed on the dry tires to make his attempt on Inters when all the fast runners in Q2 were using softs?
We all know Norris is great but Piastri looks the real deal too. Exciting future for McLaren if they can build on this, especially with the new wind tunnel coming online soon.
Perez was overly cautious on his final lap. He really doesn't look comfortable in the wet as we've already seen this season. Took too few risks and just ended up slow.
Races this year have been mostly mediocre but we've had several dynamite qualis already!
Nothing better than quali on a drying track!
This is starting to get embarrassing for Checo. I thought people were exaggerating how precarious his position was but if he keeps performing like this RB might actually be forced to take action.
Imagine if RB had an actual competitor, Checo couldn't support Max at the front at all if he keeps going like this.
Waiting the whole season for Max to make a single mistake and when it finally happens it's in a Q1 that doesn't matter
Jerboa was unstable to the point of unusability when I first started using Lemmy but I'm checking it out again now and it seems to work at least. Not quite Boost though.
I've been using WefWef to tide me over but it's not what I'm looking for and it's missing a lot of stuff still.
EDIT: Jerboa is still extremely unstable and in addition to crashing it suddenly thought I was not logged in while refusing to let me log in. It's the most Boost like interface but for now I'm sticking to WefWef and also trying Liftoff.
You're right. Going down through the levels of "okay, and why?" works on a theoretical level but requires both the person asking the right why-question and a level of intellectual honesty from both parties that is incredibly hard to find.
It's not a bad approach for questioning your own beliefs though, if you can muster the strength to be honest with yourself.
Brother you've been running a Chrome livery all season with all those logos.
Also I'm not a McLaren fan but imagine being one and getting teased with the words "chrome livery" and then seeing this garbage. I know they can't just resurrect the Vodafone deal for one race but come on.
Indeed. All would instantly turn into only Threads content through sheer volume of engagement and comment sections would flood with Meta users.
Public transport is the real killer for me. It seems bizarre to me now that there was a time I could stand on a bus or train and comfortably just hold the support handrail with a bare hand and not wash it afterwards or anything. These days I avoid them at all costs and still gotta carry disinfectant for mental health purposes.
Oh god the lingering germophobia as a result of the pandemic shining a massive spotlight on surface contamination and spread vectors has completely ruined me.
Lemmy.ml has c/Community_Requests and I think it's about time we had that on .world too.
My first thought was AstroTurf too but honestly Lemmy is still small enough that I wonder if Meta even cares enough for it to pay for astroturfing here. They got more signups in a couple of hours than Lemmy got users in three years, and by several magnitudes even. Plus it's an inherently hostile demographic for them. They're better off investing in positive posting on Reddit, which I'm sure is what they're already doing.
More ambitious teams on the grid is always good, and a proper American team (sorry Haas) will lead to more engagement in the US which should help growth. I know the Americanization of the sport is a controversial topic and I too am dreading the Las Vegas GP (though the spectacle will probably be great the track looks dreadful for racing), but I think capturing the American market will be important for the big teams to stay committed to the sport. It would also just be exciting to have more than 20 cars on the grid again.
Now we just need to get rid of Alpha Tauri, though sadly the sale doesn't seem to be happening.
PSG announces Luis Enrique as their new manager
It definitely helps. I still have a tendency to just put whatever I'm holding on the nearest available surface when I get distracted and completely forgetting about it though. But it helps as long as I'm not distracted at least!
I'll vouch for PoppinKREAM as a fantastic mod candidate for whatever it's worth.
