  • Just FYI this applies for when something is processed by customs. If you order something now it will probably arrive at customs after May 2 and you'll have to pay tariffs. If it arrives in the US on May 1 you'll still probably have to pay tariff because everything is going to get backed up because they'll be gearing up to inspect every package.

  • If you measure success as fitting the preferences of a white supremacist society, you cannot win. For example, the people who cozy up to powerful whites and repeat their reactionary thoughts are still not truly accepted by them.

To win you've gotta care about what cool people think, not white supremacists. Cool people will not care how stereotypical you are except to maybe ask you to tone it down if something seems like it perpetuates something harmful. Like it's fine to like something stereotypically Asian, don't sweat it one bit. You can like things!

  • UA has integrated neo-Nazis into the upper levels of their military and seem to make decisions based on their ideas. They have increased funding for groups like Azov, who have been running little Hitler Youth camps for years, and have recently integrated them into a larger and more powerful Baxi force.

  • AirBnB has entered the "jack up prices" period of financialized tech companies. Their first period is to establish a monopoly using ridiculous amounts of capital. Then use that monopoly to make huge profits.

Unfortunately for AirBnB they couldn't kill off hotels so they are trying to raise prices despite having a ton if competition. Hotels are now cheaper and provide a better experience 9 times out of 10.

Hope they go bankrupt soon and leave the big investors holding the bag.

  • Role

  • Damn dude, are we ignoring what happened in the square aside from the famous tank pic?

They opened fire killing hundreds, if not thousands of civilians. We of course do not know the true number, but we know this as a minimum.

That is all actually bullshit. It's the common knowledge of Western chauvinists who never investigated anything on the topic, they just tell each other these things and it never dawns on them to read a book.

There was almost no fighting whatsoever in the square and accordingly no massacre. The deaths were in fighting in the streets in the surrounding miles, and again not a massacre, but back-and-forth. One of the more famous is a PLA soldier's body burned in / on a car.

  • Role

  • ACAB isn't a general communist position. Communists have always implemented policing in every state they run. ACAB is a strategic position to hold against cops whose primary function under a capitalist state is to protect the interrsts of private property.

As part of the state, we want it to eventually wither away. But to immediately abolish all cops after a revolution is more of an anarchist position (though anarchists have historically also still had people deputized to do cop things).

  • Of course. Our precious political class has delicate sensibilities and nedds time for self-care.

Oh and Dem voters, no need to join organizations or take direct action. Just sit around being a little stressed out and blaming everyone else is plenty. You did your part! If you must do something, go to a one-off police escorted protest with no feasible demands or threats to do anything that would ever exert pressure.

  • It also still almost worked. This is how subservient and propagandized the US political electorate is. The idea of supporting mass murdering children was only a dealbreaker for a small minority, but enough to do most of the work in tipping the scales.

Kamala probably would've won with false promises to end "the war", some token Arab speakers, and "I see you and hear you" pandering.

  • The capitalist party that writes its own rules and does not adopt literally any positions via bottom-up mechanism? No, nobody can take it over except other capitalists. So in a sense you are correct, as US progressives are still fundamentally of the political ideology of capitalism.

The party works against you but, ironically, convinces you to help it for your own and others' interests. Instead, we must work together against capital if we want liberation and justice.

  • You can do useless things that take up very little time all you'd like. Doesn't bother me.

But if you want to have political agency you will need to do something real with organizing other people who can take direct action as a bloc.

  • I agree with everything except the "it's working!" part. Unfortunately, Bernie and AOC are very much insiders that prioritize their capitalist party over common people. They go to bat for their "backstabbers" every time, they tell you to support Biden and then Harris, they shy away from the word "genocide" while voting to materially support one. The function of the Bernie-AOC tour is to keep the disillusioned from leaving the party behind. Which is what is actually needed to fight fascism. We already have civic fascism, we export the worst effects of it to other countries. It's just making a little visit home and there's a risk people will understand this violence as a normalcy of the system and that we must organize ourselves against it rather than just spend 30 minures every four years for a certain flavor if genocidal racist.

  • When it comes to the left, which now has the bar set at, "does not tolerare genocide", the Democrats cannot fail, they can only be failed.

You're welcome for the civics lesson, citizen. Don't forget to buy war bonds!
