  • Frontier is exactly as much truck as most truck owners actually need. I love it. I wish it was more fuel efficient but it's a mild, modest, effective vehicle and i have not yet run into a situation it couldn't deal with. Wonderful purchase. It turns like a boat but that's a decent trade off to avoid the Toyota Tax on the Tacoma.

  • Nice to know I can finally cancel Prime though. The entire value proposition has now gone. Free shipping is hugely conditional (and prices are artificially jacked to cover it in the first place), and now they want to put the worst thing on the internet (ads) into the only component of Prime I still sorta kinda use sometimes. I'd rather keep the $140 a year or whatever.

  • lol that's fair. But also, the there's a cyclical relationship between suburbs and grocers. If you build suburbs, the grocers arrive. Where there are grocers, people might live and form suburbs. You really only have to "drive 40 minutes to get groceries" if you're waaaaaaaaaaaaay out in the sticks. Or, and I'm sorry to say it, what's more likely, is you live in a dense, urban area and are very near groceries, but can't afford a vehicle to get there directly, and so you've got to walk to the bus stop and wait for the bus to come around. This could definitely total 40 minutes to go get some eggs and milk. It's a fucking tragedy.

  • Yeah but if anything doesn't work correctly it's specifically because of the Chromium monopoly on the direction of web development. It's almost a reason unto itself to move to Firefox. It's like saying "what's the point in shopping at a mom and pop store when Amazon basically won the future of capitalism anyway?" As an argument it's just "let's give up and let Google win."

    What do you swear by?

Brand, thing, behavior, method, advice, mantra, etc.

    I swear by Blackwing pencils.

Also, the 'two minute rule', which has really improved my life: "if it takes two minutes or less to do, just do it now; if it takes longer, schedule it." I've got untreated attention issues and it's very easy for me to notice something needing done, and overlook or procrastinate it because it seems inconvenient in the moment. Having a totally painless rule that forces me to acknowledge that thing I should pick up, that trash bag I should change, etc, or, to at least put on my calendar anything I mustn't forget in the long run has been great for me.

    Trying to try again

Fell off the wagon for a few weeks. Just eating like shit. Not keeping track of anything in my app. Got back on yesterday. Went over on my calories but my weight has stayed below 200 which I'm grateful for. For my height and build I should be around 170 and I'm recommitting to getting there. As it is I've only really come down from 205 in the few months since I first started using LoseIt.

I know beer is the biggest contributor. I've just got such a taste for it and I'm very bad with moderation when it comes to anything addicting like that. Sugar, soda, just anything that's a "well maybe just one" kind of treat. You know it's never just one but also, the more you consume it regularly the harder it is to say no.

The bright spots though are that I've been exercising more regularly (decided at 35 to try and skateboard again, which is one hell of a workout), and that I've been taking extra steps to make sure I've got healthy food within reach at home or at work. I'm also trying not to ove
