  • I quite enjoy using it. Stays out of the way, boots instantly, is very plain looking.

  • Both.

  • Why would he even go? It's like Biden speaking at the green covention. Those people already hate the 2 parties. They aren't gonna go back.

  • Those eyes have seen some twisted stuff.

  • It's the tool for making golf course holes.

  • Wow, had no idea this was a thing. I'm gonna check these out. Man I'm so entering next year.

Penkesu is a handheld PC that you can build yourself.

I've always been fascinated by these small computers. GPD makes these kinds of devices too. Ordered one once but I never got it. Been thinking of building one myself though I'm worried it would be too small to enjoyable use. I would definitely write on it, that I am sure of.

  • Last time I tried it there was no view library like Winamp. Nope. At that point just use VLC or MPV.

  • Very excited by this. Hopefully they go all the way and GPL it. There hasn't been any mp3 player I've enjoyed using as much as Winamp.

  • Lol this is more like death by gunshot. Can't wait till reddits just all AI-generated crap.

  • That looks cool. Not what I'm looking for but interesting. Reminds me a bit of the MegamanEXE games.

Collectathons are just games (usually platformers) where you collect a bunch of stuff. Spyro you got the items in each level, gems, chests, sidequests (that give you items) and so on. There's a lot of stuff to collect. Banjo Kazooie is another collectathon.

  • Yeah this looks right up my alley. Man, the GBA really had all the isometric platformers.

  • Yeah who tf even looks at lyrics while on Spotify anyways

  • The banjo game looks right up my alley. Idk, something about these kinda-jank and simple GBA games just appeals to me so much. Didn't know Conker had a GBC game. It looks about how I would expect it lol. Thanks.

  • Man, I've never actually used Mobygames aside from seeing it in Google search once in a while. Didn't know you could do those kinds of searches. Way better than trying to trawl through IGDB. Gonna check this out. Thanks! I already see a few that definitely fit the bill (and all GBA too!)

Anyone know any games similar to the Spyro GBA ones? Isometric collectathons? I need more like this.

I wrote an article about the 3 games and just how good they are. Imo, they're extremely underrated. I really wanna play more games similar to it but I can't find much in the way of isometric collectathons(?) at all. Looking for any suggestions. Apologies if this isn't the right spot. GBA is retro right?

Imo, the 3 games are extremely underrated in the Spyro series and feel like completely different games.

Here's the article. It explains more specifically what I mean by these games.

I know there's the main Spyro games but I'm looking for 2D ones, basically the same deal as the Season games.

A discord client is now available for Windows XP and 2000. Now you can re-live those IRC days...sort of.

Well discord isn't completely comparable to IRC but the look of that client sure is!

  • If you haven't played Anodyne or Lenna's Inception you 100% need to do so. Lenna's Inception also has a 'meta-game' aspect that is by far the best in it's genre (beating out Evoland).

There's also Kudzu (https://megacatstudios.com/products/kudzu) which came out a few weeks ago for the Gameboy and Castaway (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2564860/Castaway/) which the first screenshot on the page should indicate what kind of game it's striving to be lol.

  • This is what I did. There's just too many variables to consider between the phones. You need a matrix.

  • Whoa. Both those games are exactly what I was looking for. Beyond the Mountains looks like it even uses graphics from the games. I gotta give it a try. Prodigal too. Can't believe I've never heard of those. Thanks!

Anyone know any other games similar to the Oracle ones? Already have a few (Anodyne, Lenna's Inception), looking for more.

The Zelda games on the Game Boy and Colour are unique within the Zelda series as a whole. Strange plots, enemies, music, mystery and even gameplay plague the three games. Hell, in Link's Awakening half the enemies are straight up from Super Mario Bros. And the oracle games come with novels and feature interconnected password systems, animal companions (who vary depending on your own actions) and areas unique in any other Zelda games (Subrosia). It's almost as if these 3 games exist in a void unto itself.

I recently watched a playthrough of the Unreal remake of Link's Awakening. Those plus the Oracle games are imo, some of my favourite Zelda games. Anyone know any games similar? I alreayd know of and love Lenna's Inception and Anodyne but I want more. I wrote an article about Link's Awakening and what I call Lozgbc games with a few more listed. Anyone know any other ones I could add?

Alone: The Horror Begins, the first ever J2ME Horror game.

Alone: The Horror Begins is allegedly (more on that later) a J2ME game developed by Centrescore, a company I can barely find any information about. This company is hard to track down. After scouring their old website I still can't figure out where they were even located. I guess somewhere in the U.S.A. but even then all the info I have is circumstantial. In their lifetime none of the games they made were that popular. They never quite made it out of obscurity. A cursory search indicates their most successful game being "Surviving High School '07", a coming of age group of minigames. Alone was their only foray into horror games before their disappearance. It appears that in 2006, Vivendi Games purchased Centrescore, eventually bringing all their IPs under that Vivendi hood. Under the Vivendi hood they were dissolved and all of their games forgotten. Makes you wonder why Vivendi even wasted the money acquiring them.

This game was apparently released in November 2005 to various digital s
