  • A guy I hired to do simple back breaking labor when I was building out my store, called up several months later to offer me a giant spool of copper wire that he had "found."

    I don't know why he thought I'd want to buy it, but I appreciate having first dibs. Had to pass on it though.

  • They just shot a 16 year old kid at a nearby Walmart for shoplifting. The biggest defense so far seems to be that they didn't realize he was 16, because he had facial hair. He also had a gun, but dropped it, and THEN they shot him.

    Three of the Waltons are in the Top 15 richest Americans. I don't care what someone is doing, if they're stealing from Walmart, one of the most evil corporations in the history of the World, I'm totally cool with it.

  • At least part of this is probably caused by spread of the news of a similar policy in China, where people really are encouraged not to get involved, because Good Samaritans can be held responsible for deaths or injuries of victims.

    I remember this becoming a bit of a big story a while back. This urban myth seems to build on that Chinese policy.

  • Once again, the Dems blew their opportunity. The SOTU used to be a polite affair, until MAGAs started yelling stuff at Obama. When MAGAs start getting all verklempt about last night's speech, they should be reminded of Boobert and MTG constantly hollering through every speech by a Democrat. They started this.

    So why didn't the Dems answer the Traitors chanting "USA, USA" by chanting "Epstein Files, Epstein Files" over and over? When he claimed that the streets were safer, they should have chanted "Murderer, Murderer." When he challenged them to stand up, they should have chanted "Pedophile, Pedophile." And they should have chanted "Liar, Liar" every time he told another lie. THAT would be leadership. MAGA intendS to use film of the Dems just sitting there why he tries to create a gotcha moment (he thought he could duplicate the moment they asked Bondi to face the Epstein victims), so could you imagine if that clip was ruined by all the Dems chanting "Pedophile, Pedophile?" That would have been beautiful.

    But Dems are STILL obsessed with being polite to people who are accurately described as traitors, corrupt, racist, mysoginist, violent, stupid, incompetent, and pedophiles. They don't have to be polite to them, and pretend any of their nonsense is worth considering.

    MAGA are vicious criminals, domestic terrorists, and the greatest National Security Threat this nation's has faced since the Civil War. They deserve to be excoriated at every opportunity. Elected Democratic should demonstrate a visceral disgust with EVERYTHING that MAGA does, and make it clear to the American people that their behavior is unacceptable, and those who support and participate in it should be shunned by polite society.

    MAGA represents only about 30% of society, so the other 70% should be encouraged to turn on them, as harshly as possible. Fire them from their jobs, exclude them from neighborhood activities, shun them at church, make them feel rejected, and unwelcome EVERYWHERE. They are traitors and pedophiles, and we don't have to pretend they aren't. In fact, we should remind them to their faces how disgusting we think they are.

    Humans are herd animals, and MAGAs are more than most. Cut them from the herd, and most of them will quit MAGA before they lose their herd.

    Stop being polite to Evil.

    Edit: Okay, I wake up to news that a MAGA special interest group has already cut an ad showing Dems sitting out Trump's "challenge," saying "Democrats a support illegal immigrants, Republicans support YOU." They couldn't do that, if the Dems had sat there, but also chanted "Ped-O-Phile!"

    Our elected Dems have to get in the game. Trump was planning a giant dog-and-pony show, and it was the perfect opportunity for Dems to ruin it. Instead, half didn't show up to play, and the other half showed up, and didn't play.

  • I love Art, but I am a degreed musician, so I'll offer one painting, and four musical masterpieces.

    1. Picasso: Guernica - I saw it decades ago, when it was still at MOMA, before it went back to Spain. I was already a fan of great art, but seeing Guernica in person, made me hard-core. I have seen many museums and masterpieces since then, but never had a more visceral response to any other painting.

    2. Beethoven: Symphony #7 - the 9th may be the greatest musical work ever composed, but I love the 7th, a perfect little jewel. I don't think there is any other musical work that makes me feel such warm affection for it.

    3. Bach, JS: Brandenburg Concertos - Nearly every musical mood is illustrated with possibly the most exquisite sparkling music ever composed.

    4. Pink Floyd: The Wall - IMHO, simply the best composed, performed, and produced rock album of all time. Literally perfect. David Gilmour gives a master class in virtuosic guitar playing, in what is probably the greatest guitar album of all time. It deserves to stand alongside the greatest musical masterpieces of the 20th century, in any genre.

    5. Talking Heads: Stop Making Sense (Film, 40th Anniversary remastered version) - the greatest live rock album and and film ever produced. Incendiary performances, better than the original studio versions, captured on film by Jonathan Demme. One mesmerizing performance after another.

  • Right now, we have only one priority, and everything else has to take a back seat until we fully accomplish that objective: We have to crush MAGA decisively, and purge it from our government and our society. We cannot address all the other problems this nation faces as long as we have treasonous, corrupt, racist, pedophiles cheating, bribing, stealing, intimidating their way into power, and keeping good things from happening to this country.

    So the next Democratic president has to be a Warrior. We cannot afford any more feckless Democrats like Biden and Obama, who stood by and watched as the larval Republicans morphed into their final stage: MAGA, and stole America right out from under their noses.

    The next president needs to know that we expect them to FIGHT for us. We are in unprecedented times, and we will require unprecedented solutions, and we need a President who isn't afraid to act decisively toward the true National Security Threat that a violent domestic terrorist organization like MAGA genuinely represents.

    I will support the candidate who pledges to fully crush MAGA, and MEANS it.

    I'm not sure who that person is yet, but I'm looking at Mark Kelly, Pritzker, and a couple others. There are a few I would love to see in the office, like AOC or Warren, but they can't get elected right now. Newsome is a phony billionaire lover.

    I'm waiting for that Warrior to step up, and declare war on MAGA. THAT'S my guy.
