  • The way I understand it is that the party itself gets to choose the letter. It can, of course, not choose a letter another party has already chosen.When the letters were handed out in the 1900's there was no choice though. They were just given out according to size. The social democrats were the biggest so they got A, radical left got B, the conservatives C and Venstre got D, but they later changed it to V.The OG racist party Dansk Folkeparti chose O because it stands for "optimism, order and organisation" according to Pia Kjærsgaard who was the party leader basically since it was created and until quite recently.I figure Danmarksdemokraterne chose Æ because it's a letter that isn't seen outside of Denmark.Alternativet probably chose Å because a graphic designer in the party loved it or something like that.Socialistisk Folkeparti chose F because it's the first letter in Folkeparti.Enhedslisten chose Ø probably because it's one of the coolest letters in the alphabet (as evidenced by all those shitty coffee chains around the world appropriating it) and back when they actually dared to stand for something and have opinions they also managed to make good choices once in a while.

In all of human history nobody has been governed so well and so just as they are, and at no time in the future will anyone ever devise a better system. While believing firmly in the demcratic superiority of their system, the people of Denmark also consistently rank their politicians as the least trustworthy of all professions, below used car salesmen and journalists.

    Denmark is a parliamentary multi-party system. No normal sane person wants to be a dues-paying member of any of the parties, so the parties simply legislated themselves government funding making them independent from the common riff-raff. Additional funding from private oligarchs is provided by opaque and murky channels. The system appears corruption-free because campaign finance is essentially unregulated and since corruption is perceived as something ontologically foreign that only happens in less white and less civilised countries than Denmark.

    Important thing to add related to this. Danes love to talk about how Denmark is "the least corrupt" country in the world. This is a misunderstanding. Denmark is the country with the lowest level of perceived corruption. This is because the average dane has the observational skills of a rock, the memory of fruit fly and the naiveté of a puppy.

Pointing out that Ingers portrait gives the vibe of a person who would feed you the blandest casserole as some sort of Gestapo Trick to suss out wether or not you were really white, isn't lookism. It's not about her physical characteristica as much as it's how she's chosen to present herself.Her second in command when she helmed Dansk Folkeparti litterally looked like a pig though, which is lookism, but it's also true.
