  • Kde has its own thing now. Lots easier to find than its own spin

  • One of my favorite introductions to a film. It's gorgeous

    They're figuring it out

Never would have thought I'd see this sort of comment on wallstreetbets

  • The statement from 2-21 is crazy to me.

The police hadn't handed a lot of documents to the defense at the time but spoke of the document on television.

It's so clear that higher ups are making a show of Luigi. The American legal system is a joke

  • Check out this dronie from lemm.ee whitewashing Belgian colonialism in Africa

  • Somehow he vocalized tipping a fedora

  • So 4g capable would mean what exactly?

I doubt this thing makes phone calls or does it?

  • I buy things on aliexpress a lot and honestly some of the stuff is excellent quality.

But like any other storefront there will be plenty of junk. Just be mindful of what you are buying.

TTArtisan for example make lenses for cameras and I have bought a few of their lenses. They are superb I mean just really great quality for a fraction of the cost of a name brand.

China is able to produce things of great workmanship for pennies on the dollar. It's really impressive

  • I have personally ordered heavier machines from China and I have had nothing but positive experiences.

For example a pallet jack, electric. A toyota one is easily over 10,000 and I am sure they are very reliable. But I can get a capable 1.5 ton pallet jack from china for 1,100 that I have had zero issues out of except for a piece that was cosmetically damaged during shipping. I can't say that they are comparable in quality as I've only had it for around a year but I've also had zero issues out of it. And for a 1/10 of the price it has excellent welds, great battery, great safety measures.

America was beaten long ago in manufacturing and now the average American is realizing that and is buying from China. So of course America has to shut that off.

I hope China will find a way around these tariffs but it's beginning to look unlikely.

    P.S.

Farming equipment as well is very cheaply produced in China, most wrap for hay come from China already. China makes excellent tractors big and small.

The only reason Chinese farm equipment isn't huge is because America subsidizes farmers so much.

  • I mean this seems reasonable especially with how quickly flatpaks are becoming so common.

I'm sure this wouldn't happen for a very long time though

  • I can't get over the strike system.

You can murder two people but after that boy you're in trouble.

This can't be for real lmao

  • Where does someone buy paintings?

I can't think of anywhere near me that would have any. I guess I could do yard sales but I doubt there would be many I'd want at a yard sale.

I'd buy online but I'm afraid the quality of the painting would be subpar

  • Lemmy for having a much smaller population is a fairly viable alternative to reddit.

Reddit in recent years has gotten to the point where a lot of the content is regurgitated.

Lemmy seems like it has a lot more quality over quanity. And I really appreciate that.

Also the fact lemmy is federated gives it a lot more sustainability imho

  • There is an issue going over what happened.

    https://github.com/h4h13/paisa-app/issues/2

I'm gonna be honest Paisa was under agpl 3 and it explicitly states you can't just change the license.

If my non-lawyer interpration is correct.

But then again maybe I am misunderstanding that

  • I'm already rewatching bcs. So I'll do breaking bad next.

I just want to see if re-watching it will make me feel any different about it. My friend said they didn't like it on a re-watch as much

  • I feel like I disagree. But I can't explain why. I am going to rewatch breaking bad and edit my comment when I've done that so I can explain my disagreement. Or maybe I'll end up agreeing with you

See you in a few months

  • Hyprland is very pretty and smooth. But damn. It's reputation as a home to a community of homophobia and transphobia keeps me far away.

I wish there was another wm devoted to eye candy but until then sway will be my preferred wm

  • I've found linux support to be stupendous. I am running fedora silverblue and I can't think of anything that didn't work out of the box.

    Even the fingerprint sensor!!!

Framework has really great forums and pages dedicated to linux. I even get firmware updates through ufw no problem.

Great build quality, amazing repairability, performance for the price is pretty decent. The keyboard is even pretty good.

It's probably one of my favorite laptops I've ever used.

  • I love openttd but I probably have the most time in https://openrct2.io/

  • I mean it's neat. And it's oriented towards desktop use more so than any other OS I have ever used.

Personally I am very excited to finally see haiku ver 1 soon. For an old laptop it is very VERY lightweight and gets most work related tasks you could want done.

    It's neat

  • It would be a good thing for you to read. More lenin is good for everyone

    Literature on Syria

With the current situation in Syria I have realized I'm not very well read on Syria at all and am sort of lost.

I'd be grateful if anyone could recommend some good books on Syria so I don't feel completely lost

Here is a chart of the states that voted for Claudia De La Cruz. Note the percentage is out of votes for De La Cruz

Also 89,923 Americans voted for her. This is all according to 270towin.com

So that means a small fraction of Americans are somewhat cool

Linus Torvalds Comments On The Russian Linux Maintainers Being Delisted - Phoronix

    Here is Linus's comment

Ok, lots of Russian trolls out and about. It's entirely clear why the change was done, it's not getting reverted, and using multiple random anonymous accounts to try to "grass root" it by Russian troll factories isn't going to change anything. And FYI for the actual innocent bystanders who aren't troll farm accounts - the "various compliance requirements" are not just a US thing. If you haven't heard of Russian sanctions yet, you should try to read the news some day. And by "news", I don't mean Russian state sponsored spam. As to sending me a revert patch - please use whatever mush you call brains. I'm Finnish. Did you think I'd be supporting Russian aggression? Apparently it's not just lack of real news, it's lack of history knowledge too.

And about whether or not he is under an NDA

No, but I'm not a lawyer, so I'm not going to go into the details that I - and other maintainers - were told by lawyers. I'm also not going to start discussing legal issu

I'd have to read on it but it all seems fairly accurate. I also really like Max Miller's videos, very entertaining and educating

    Watches

What sort of watches do you guys wear?

I'm currently using the seagull 1963. It's a Chinese made watch that was ordered into production by the government. So this is a legit commie watch. Plus it's pretty

    Bad news guys

There I was planning my Cuban vacation for all of fifteen minutes and then I found out Americans are not allowed to go to Cuba for tourism. WHAT THE HELL OBAMA.

But seriously. What a dumb fucking rule. Death to America

    So sixel...

How does it work?? I have been trying google-fu for probably two hours trying to figure out how exactly you even install sixel. I found libsixel but it seems unmaintained. I just wanna try out images in my terminal. lol. Does anyone have any experience using sixel on linux and is it worth the effort to even setup?
