  • Stimulants have similar effects and don't cause added risk of giving deranged lunatics with guns (as many) crazy hallucinations

  • You often treat the entire American electorate like one big guilty party.

    Yes.

  • I think criticizing Russia, China, or North Korea is only bannable if you're also annoying.

    skill issue

  • I really enjoy playing classical guitar but haven't ever reached that "flow state"

  • At least the activity from job is good for health!

What kinds of gaming / writing do you do?

  • That is entirely my relationship with Path of Exile. I have difficulty listening to podcasts / audiobooks without it because I feel like I need something to do with my hands to absorb anything

  • Sounds very good for the soul :)

  • Hell yeah! I've tried to play but scheduling always seems to get in the way..

  • I never find myself feeling 100% rested after playing video games. When I'm trying to get some reading done hopping on a mindless game and listening to an audio book really helps me absorb the info though.

  • Knitting is so hard! My stubby fingers were not built for that kind of fine motor work lol

Video games + audio book is absolutely goated combo

  • Yeah, I'm trying to pursue more activities outside of reading theory so I can have more in common with my community. Being a politics nerd is great but your average person won't respect you until you've already built a connection with them.

  • I tried growing some tomatoes last summer but struggled. I think I didn't fill my containers with enough dirt. Next year I hope to have a tub of kratky veggies + give tomatoes another shot!

  • o7 you are bringing us all one step closer to fully automated luxury gay space communism

  • Sleep is important! Having a one year old is one of the best justifications for naps

  • I started with bookbinding, through that figured out I wanted to start learning leatherworking, and now I'm teaching myself to sew!

My first sewing project I want to complete is a Ushanka to keep myself warm, then maybe a big coat :)

Knitting is something I've always wanted to learn but there's just not enough time to figure out how to do everything...

  • Happy birthday Oppo!

Please do not beam me with the lib-inator ray

  • The first half of chapter one is a struggle but the second half made a lot more sense to me. I think next week I'll re-read chapter 1 to help it sink in and then read chapter 2. Essentially doubling the amount of reading but fuck it if I didn't push through before reaching 100% understanding it'd take me a lifetime per chapter lol.

  • Yes, but the cities they live in are designed to support car infrastructure instead of being walkable / having adequate public transit. Cities are designed in this way to serve the interests of the wealthy.

The wealthy are the architects of the system we live in, and they resist any desire for change with all the power at their disposal. The disinformation they spread with media outlets they own, the lobbying to reduce regulation, outsourcing, etc. all play far more of a factor than your average persons agency.
