How far off?
Dale, you giblet hand
Hey no problem, aren't we all. That is an incredible username by the way.
Why would you take that away from my comment? I meant Rastafari is derived from Christianity and uses cannabis in groundings which is the closest parallel to the sacrament in other Christian sects.
Did these sound like the actions of a man who had all he could eat?
Nowadays, everybody wanna talk like they got something to say
But nothing comes out when they move their lips
Just a bunch of gibberish
And motherfuckers act like they forgot about APT
Isn't that basically Rastafari?
I've just spent six days on holiday with some of my extended family, all adults, staying in a hotel with my own room and en suite bathroom. It was great and we had a lot of fun but after less than a week I'm VERY happy to be back in my own home with the knowledge that it'll just be me and my cat in the morning. Maybe some people would prefer to keep living with family into adulthood, maybe I would if I'd been used to it but as it stands I love my parents and siblings though the idea of living with them fills me with dread.
I've tried PopOS as I have a machine with an Nvidia card but every tine I've done the first apt upgrade it nukes grub and won't boot again. Probably something I'm doing wrong and it has been a couple of years since I last tried.
That would be Blue by Eiffel 65
Debian, on servers and a desktop. I spent a long time using Ubuntu so I'm used to APT and Debian is suitably lightweight for my not amazing hardware. I also like the non rolling nature of it.
Yea when I said that I excel at Excel I was somewhat exaggerating, much as I have at every job interview I've ever had. It's become something of a reflex these days. But as someone else has said I think that particular issue is just down to Excel being crap.
Think it's still allowed here in the UK. As a kid me and my family lived in a flat above the take away (take out restaurant) that my mother worked at.
My cat hurt his leg and was limping for a while. I thought it was taking a long time to heal and eventually realised that he was still limping in front of me and walking normally when he thought nobody could see him, I'm guessing on the off chance that people would feel sorry for him and give him food.
It is his job though
Excel, it wouldn't be useful but I'd still be great at it.
I'm on holiday right now with my extended family. The youngest is 18. It's been great but today is the sixth and final day and I'm ready to go home so I can chill out on my own. The thought of going home and spending more time with this group of adults I'm related to fills me with dread. I can't imagine what it would be like if one of them was a young child, let alone one that I had to be responsible for.
Good point, thank you. I'll bear that in mind.
cough Debian cough
I got rid as soon as I had the money because I wanted a shower. Something that wasn't present as it was rare in houses here in the UK until at least the early '90s.

Why are entertainers paid so much?
I mean they're not all super rich but especially in the USA and especially with actors or TV personalities it seems like the well known ones make huge amounts of money. Just picking people at random and doing some searching online, apparently Scott Bakula got paid $120,000 for each episode of NCIS: New Orleans he was in which totalled over $18 million. Some sources say that Sarah Sherman, who's been on SNL for 3 seasons, is worth around $4 million. Why do they get paid huge amounts of money when most people, even if they're at the top of their industry, make a fraction of that?

What would happen if E.T. and Mr. T. had a baby?

See, I think about weird stuff.

Onlyfans creators will eventually market meat of themselves
Lab grown meat already exists. The same processes could easily make human meat without harming the human.
I'm fairly certain this will at some point lead to a social media fad of people trying, well, people. It seems like every possible stupid action has already been turned into one at this point https://eu.app.com/story/news/world/2024/03/07/what-is-tiktok-chroming-trend/72879475007/
Onlyfans creators already sell stuff like toenail clippings and bathwater https://kotaku.com/belle-delphine-onlyfans-paypal-pornhub-bath-water-1851491916
Wouldn't be difficult to imagine people buying meat made of their favourite creator. What they do with it is between them and their god.
"Do you really want to eat Bella Thorne's ass? Well, for just $19.99 you can fry up a small part of it!"

Nicotine addiction isn't that bad - tobacco companies encourage the belief that it's more severe to keep people smoking
Tobacco companies had to own up to the fact that smoking is harmful in the 1960s when undeniable evidence came out. People struggled to quit because it is somewhat addictive, but mainly because they enjoyed it.
Those companies then encouraged the rhetoric about it being more addictive than heroin. It isn't. In my experience it's less addictive than caffeine.
Here's my history with nicotine:
- Smoked cigarettes from 15 - 26.
- Quit totally for 14 months
- My friend who smoked moved back to town and I smoked when I was with them.
- Switched to vaping 8 years ago.
- Quit vaping in January this year (2024).
I bought 30 cigars at the start of last month (April 2024) and have smoked 9 of them so far. I normally just have 1 a week if I'm having a beer at home but I went out drinking 2 nights in a row at the start of this month and smoked 6 over that weekend.
Am I addicted? Maybe, but I haven't had any nicotine this week and don't plan on having any next week either.

Yea, that is a bit pricey...
