An "unusual move"? Nice phrasing there, NYT.
I wonder if history will call it an "unusual move".
Yep. People rightly say the Democrats wouldn't have stopped the war either, but it's the difference between saying "Alright, we support you, but there a re limits, ok?" and whatever Trump is saying. Probably that Netanyahu is his buddy and the best.
I hate this so much, helplessly watching a people getting destroyed in real time.
Ah, the Faux Defense.
You have to drag these people to court to get an honest word out of them.
Judge Vyskocil also pointed out that Carlson said “sounds like" prior to saying the word extortion, which “would put any reasonable viewer on notice that Carlson himself doubts the veracity of the source of these statements and that the listener should as well."
Not many reasonable people in the USA, apparently.
President Trump appointed Judge Vyskocil to the bench in 2019.
I rest my case.
I hate this guy so much. He delivers the most disgusting takes with an air of calm and reason*, at least since he left Faux News. Meaning the air, his takes haven't changed.
oh and I forgot: packing his disgusting takes in "innocent questions" - he has that down to a t
Yet here we are...
I have no idea what it's about.
There's a lot of older scifi that has not stood the test of time yet is still somehow intriguing.
Thanks again! I wasn't sure where the terms belong on the timeline.
Who is sabaton, what is a templars cover, and most importantly, what is "ai"?
edit: Downvoting for not knowing the band? Such pizzaz!
There's a software name I can get behind!
Is that the same guy who wrote Standards? tsk, tsk.
Google was happy to provide this because it meant that they could be the only ones that could write a browser.
Word. That, and so many other things.
Not that this excuses much
No, it really doesn't. NK has been totalitarian (practically a monarchy) and militarist since birth, and tyrannical for the most time since. That's where you need to look when you want to blame someone for people starving there.
Yep. My current dentist is Ukrainian. And she's good.
Anyhow, I wouldn't call my mum radicalized*, just a general mood of complaining about everything. She spends too much time looking at this stuff and then thinks that's just how people talk nowadays. And she has no concept of fact-checking or even an inkling of which news to trust and which not. If it comes from a "friend" it's by default more trustworthy than me saying "well maybe that statistic doesn't even exist, or if, it says something very different". That said if we sat together I might be able to talk some sense into her, but we live far apart.
though I'm thinking with discomfort who she might have voted for
In case of ODF, well from what I remember, MS office could export to it
You probably mean .odt, but yes. It's an open format. Which is the whole point.
Thanks, that was a fun read.
Preaching to the choir wrt js and how it's just piling on and on. But then I did say I'm 5.
So WebAssembly could have been a development of Java apps on the web? I vaguely remember that used to be a thing long ago. And Java Web Start is just that? Or is it "to finally start to approach some pale imitation of a decent thing now"?
The better paid a job is the more likely it is to demand that sort of "commitment". And these people really like their money. They say to themselves "20 years of this, then I'll travel the world". Looks like it didn't work out for this guy.
Oh yeah, it's the Mercator projection's silliness made visible. Maybe that's why Trump wants Greenland in the first place...
They're applauding his dumb boasting. I read good articles on the daily beast, but this is stupid.
I hadn't realized this episode had been sitting on my playlist since February.
But it's a long term view on war (defense) in space, and how it's been a favorite but useless toy of more than 1 potus.
And it's even more dystopian & pessimistic than the usual tone of this excellent podcast.
President Donald Trump wants to build an American Iron Dome. He even signed an executive order to make it happen. It’s a terrible idea, one we’ve tried before, and one that will make America less safe.
In this episode, Joseph Cirincione returns to the program to detail his personal history with complicated and costly missile defense systems.
Best (preferably offline) HTML viewer? Minimal resources?
I have wondered many times.
Of course I can always use a browser but it's overkill.
The same goes for yad or zenity, they pull in webkit which is a full-fledged browser engine, and at least yad does not have an offline mode.
I just want to look at some local HTML (incl. images) & CSS styling.

Bester (am liebsten offline) HTML-Betrachter? Minimale Resourcen?
Moi, sain just sellaisen kirjeen jossa sanotaan että "internet-liittymästänne on jaettu lainvastaisesti elokuvateostoa".
Kannattaa siis etsiä neuvoa vuodelta 2022 eteenpäin; uusinta minkä löysin on dawnin artikkeli 10/2023.
