BBC - Arsenal's Lia Walti says club have 'built something huge with fans'
Love to see it:
"We've had every away game sold out so far this season I think which shows how much the club is doing all the right things to help the women's game grow"

Arseblog - an in-depth look at Arsenal Women's lack of ethnic diversity
Arseblog - an in-depth look at Arsenal Women's lack of ethnic diversity
This is a good long read on the issues around diversity in Women's football in England, and puts the recent furor over the Arsenal squad photo in context. I am once again in awe of Alex Scott for how she's managed to thrive in spite of the barriers she's had to push past.

Good breakdown of the set piece strategy for the game vs Burnley from the animated Korean cat

In case anyone here is interested, the arsenalfc.social mastodon server is looking for new ownership and/or help with their running costs.

Catsenal - "unpredictable tactics vs Sheffield Utd"
Another good breakdown by the animated cat on the tactics employed by Arsenal last week.
Detailed as always, so slowing down playback might be a good idea.

Love this description of the differences between Miedema and Maanum from Tim Stillman's newsletter:
"Miedema will give Arsenal a little bit of the guile they have been missing. Frida, for her qualities, is not really a pass picker. She doesn’t pick the lock she smashes the door down"

Analysis: Why have Arsenal Women struggled against deep defensive blocks this season?
Analysis: Why have Arsenal Women struggled against deep defensive blocks this season?
From Tim Stillman: "The technical instability at centre-half and number 10 has made Arsenal less convincing in the exact area opposing defences have clogged up and targeted. This has meant a high number of crosses, with Arsenal averaging 35.3 per game so far this season, compared to 24.4 last season."

The only thing I've enjoyed about this game are the away fans out singing the Chelski fans

This is so detailed and dense I had to slow down playback speed and mute audio 😂 Note: Closed captions required unless you understand Korean

Love these analysis reports from Tim Stillman: https://arseblog.news/2023/10/whole-lotte-love-analysis-lotte-wubben-moy/

@GunnersBot is this the only way Ben White can get in the England squad?

@ironeaglebird
This flashed past on my feed before I got to watch the match and I was gutted because somehow I 'read' it a negative.
Chuffed with that result.
Performance not great but the referee/s were a lot to contend with.
Great to see Vieria mucking in and squad depth showing its value.
Hard on Ramsdale and a brave decision but it was vindicated - it feels like Raya might be able to take us further and we've got to have a look in a proper team/match to judge it

@Astrealix game is being streamed outside of the UK & Ireland on Paris FC's own site: https://tv.parisfc.fr/livestream/s-arsenal-fc-paris-fc-bo53d6

@enhancedscurry @ironeaglebird
I didn't/dont get this: Neville was criticising Gabriel for moving in the wrong direction...

@enhancedscurry @ironeaglebird
Can't say he hasn't given us ample chance to learn who he is.
At least his RB role is over. Or on hold.. And Gabriel is back playing well as usual.

@enhancedscurry @OlPatchy2Eyes
We definitely gave them plenty of chances to win...
And another hyper-emotional win for us. Hopefully this settles down asap because I think it cannot be sustained.

@Aesecakes @Astrealix
Got to respect the consistency and reliability.

Very happy he's gone.
If only #Nkeitah could have joined him. Excellent sub in the last match and not bad so far this season generally, but he will always drag our level down.

There are some great Viv anecdotes from Tim Stillman on the latest "Inside the red and white" podcast about 14 minutes in:

Always enjoy listening to Clive & Tim on the ArsenalVision pod. They made good points about fans getting on players backs before they've had a chance to find their feet - see Vieira. Going to need some patience with Havertz too, especially given how experimental our structure is at the moment.

@Astrealix Vic absolutely deserves a statue for his work. Manager of the only English team to win the Women's Champions League 🤩

@HaleEndGrad @Astrealix
Decent players are going to #Saudi, so for sure they'll go to #Chelsea
