Spencer slams scapegoating of minorities in historic by-election victory speech

NEW Green MP Hannah Spencer slammed politicians for scapegoating communities after her sensational Gorton and Denton by-election victory today.

The 34-year-old plumber said “we can win anywhere” and voters “rejected hate and embraced hope” after consigning Labour to third place, behind Reform UK, in a seat it had held since 1931.

In her victory speech, she said: “I didn’t grow up wanting to be a politician.

“I am no different to every single person here in this constituency. I work hard. That is what we do.
