How Japanese 'tiny forests' are sweeping Scotland

Grown using the Miyawaki method, fast-growing miniature forests in the middle of cities can bring surprisingly big benefits for people and the environment.

At just 200 m^2 tiny forests in urban areas are planted in heavily-amended soils all at once (multiple levels of canopy and groundcover). The result is forests that are mature in 10 years instead of 100.
