Ya know, the classic “says some vague thing you have to interpret before the eventual reveal” thing.
I’ve been thinking a lot about Fate/Samurai Remnant recently and I keep going back to a statement echoed many many times. (Vague SR Spoilers)“Iori… you were born in the wrong era…”
The last words of protagonist Miyamoto Iori’s master and adoptive father, these words can form the core of the game’s themes. A truly sad statement, that you only understand fully when the game reaches it’s thematic climax in NG+
By the end, ya can’t think of a better way to describe Iori.
I just beat Lies of P and god damn is it incredible. It's such a well built, well structured game that iterated on so many aspects of the Soulslike genre. This game knocks it out of the park with it's weapons, bosses, world design, enemies, literally all aspects of this game is exceptional. I personally cannot wait for what the studio does next.
So… Babylon’s Fall ended service before even hitting that 1 year anniversary.
I couldn’t play any video games during the time it was active due to personal reasons, so I was super bummed when the game closed forever.
Squeenix didn’t even leave it in a state that was playable offline. At least Avengers is still playable for anyone who bought the game, so I enjoyed it from start to finish for what it was.
Looked up if there was a private server or anything for Babylon’s fall, but nope. Literally nothing. No news or anything in the last months after its EOS. Just completely dead and gone and forgotten.
Edit: Also by “favorite fictional characters” I mean characters from any media. Doesn’t just have to be your favorite characters from only one media in case that wasn’t already clear.
I've been reading a lot Batman comics recently and somewhere in the middle of the 70's it suddenly hit me. You know those stupid moves Batman pulls in the Arkham games when he's in focus flow? He jumps between targets, does backflips and levitates through the air to hit motherfuckers that are 10 feet away. If you've seen it you know. It looks really fucking silly and uncanny.
Batman wouldn't fight like that. He does kung fu and shit. Very orthodox and graceful movment, right? WRONG!
That's exactly how he fights in the comics. He pulls moves that make no sense whatsoever. Some straight up KAPOW Adam West shit. Doing running dive kicks. Hitting three p
I'll start off: I found out that Mark Millar did a reboot of one of the "Nemesis" story he wrote years ago, the reboot being called "Nemesis Reloaded". Now the original story, as well as Millar himself, are known for being overly edgy to the point of the story quality diminishing greatly as a result of it all. And...that rings true for Nemesis Reloaded. To give the gist of it, the story is basically "What if Batman was a villain and a terrorist"? And from there, it's just five issues of him showing off how cool and smart he is and how he's 10 steps ahead of everyone else, which, unsurprisingly, made the story kinda boring because no one made him struggle a
Title is a bit of a mess but I'm talking about times when an old character is replaced by a new character to do a new storyline but the old character sticks around either due to popularity or something else like in Yakuza. Yakuza 6 tried to end Kiryu's story by leaving the dojo clan to dojima, majima, and saejima, and showing haruka happy with her new family allowing Kiryu to finally leave behind the yakuza lifestyle. This allowed the yakuza studio to introduce Ichiban as the new lead.
Unfortunately for them, one year after Yakuza 6 released, yakuza 0 released in the west and people loved it. People wanted more and the studio gav
So I started watching the Good Omens show based off of Terry Pratchett's book recently, and in the first couple of episodes, the forces of heaven and hell are setting the stage for the incoming apocalypse after the birth of the antichrist, and part of this involves getting all the biblical Four Horseman back in action. How do they do this? Well, in typical Pratchett-esque humour, there's a delivery driver delivering packages to each one.
When he gets to Pestilence, however, the narrator (God) tells us that Pestilence had retired long ago, and was replaced with someone else. It's a person seen with dirty clothes, who is tossing random junk
I was recently doing some self-reflecting on my current game rotation, and noticed that I was really only playing Monk in ff14 for the big combo finisher at the end. Then that lead to how I perfer strikes in Path of exile over other skills cause I like the impact, and then to why I basically only used the fists in DMCV cause the charged giga impact was so satisfying.
So what's that one move you got in your game that is the biggest draw?
So I looked up smokes bio after hearing his actual name is from Tomas Vrbada and yeah he's from Prague, Czech Republic even in the original timeline I think.
I keep forgetting that the lin kuei recruited people from all over.

Welcome to the Free Talk Friday post. This is a place where you can talk about dumb off-topic (or on-topic) bullshit with other Zaibatsu fans.
There's going to be a new post every week, and the newest one will be pinned in the announcement bar for quick access. So feel free to visit these posts during the rest of the week.
I like Blue Bettle, I like Jaime, I like his one-off and early comic runs, I like him in Young Justice, and I like him in Batman Brave And The Bold.
But I could not be less interested in the Blue Bettle movie, I don't think it will be bad but I just don't want to sit through another superhero origin movie where the first third is the characters home life then getting their powers then needing to learn how to use their powers while falling on their bottom while they and people around them scream.
I think if this movie came out ten or even five years earlier, I'd be super interested but now after so much superhero media I'm not super interested
