I think this article's points should be at the forefront of SyncForLemmy's design

Feature request: user friendly link resolution for other instances
The original was posted on /r/syncforlemmy by /u/swiftessay on 2023-06-26 15:59:39+00:00.
One bad aspects of using Lemmy is that when someone posts a link to a community hosted in a different instance, it's a hassle to find how to go to that community without leaving your native instance so that you can actually interact with it.
If I'm logged in at instance A and I click on a link redirecting to a community on instance B it would be nice if the app had a way to take me to that community as viewed from instance A, so I can remain logged in and interact with it.

New app or just a change of data layer?
The original was posted on /r/syncforlemmy by /u/FloppyTomatoes on 2023-06-23 14:44:01+00:00.
This is awesome news.
Will this be a new app, or will you just replace the data layer with Lemmy and continue with the existing app?
Feature request for MVP release: being able to sort comments

This would immediately place the app higher in priority than Jerboa, for me. its really my biggest issue with Jerboa, although I would switch to sync anyway as a very long term Sync Pro supporter/user. But this would really be nice.
Will Sync for Lemmy Be Able to Handle kbin.social as well?
The original was posted on /r/syncforlemmy by /u/thepillarist on 2023-06-22 16:49:23+00:00.
I know they're supposed to work together but there are kbin communities/magazines or whatever that I cannot follow on my Lemmy account, for the life of me I don't know why some work and some don't. So at the moment I have Jerboa and Kbin both and if Sync is able to sort that out, it would be awesome. If it's an issue with the end of Lemmy and Kbin, I understand. I'm still figuring this all out. Definitely getting Sync either way!
Sync for Discuit?

I know that Sync for Lemmy seems to be the popular choice, but I'm just not a fan of how complicated federated services tend to be for most endusers despite that I really like the idea behind them.
There's another platform that's only 5 days old that is showing great promise, discuit.net - was just wondering if anyone would have any interest for a Sync app for that service? (though I'm not sure if jdawson would given it is so small and just getting started)
So, what is Lemmy? Is it an app that I can download, or is it a website? Is it similar to Reddit 2.0/9gag, or is it more like Discord?

Using Sync for Reddit as a marketing tool come July 1st is more urgent than building the MVP

First of all, thank you /u/ljdawson for pursuing Sync for Lemmy. It’s honestly given me so much hope for Fediverse adoption to actually happen. I do have one thought to share with you to help with success:
Come July 1st pretty much all Sync users are going to open the app due to muscle memory or due to a lack of awareness of what’s happening.
If they see “this app doesn’t work any more” or similar, they are simply going to delete the app and will likely go to the official Reddit app. The opportunity to engage them will be gone.
However, you can use it as a huge marketing opportunity if on that day it says something to the
I'm super happy to pay again, but I'd also love to see an as smooth as possible transition!

The best thing that could happen to Sync users and Lemmy as their new platform alike, would be an as seamless transition as possible:
An update to the app at the end of the month, a quick explanation "Hey, you might have heard that Reddit has locked us out from their API, this App now supports Lemmy instead" and, ideally: "Sync will help you sign up for and/or migrate your existing subscriptions to Lemmy as much as possible".
Any additional friction, like:
And here I thought I'd leave reddit on a sad note...

Deleting my account on July 11th, and this post where people mistook me for LJ (due to my admittedly improperly worded title) was supposed to be the final goodbye.
Now, this one is. And I won't miss a bloody thing. Here's to Lemmy! See you on the other side :-D

Is there a good video somewhere that explains how to use Lemmy? So far using Lemmy is like the worst of official Reddit. Hard to get in the flow of moving from one story to the next.
