This is the official Lemmy community for Retro Warriors podcast. We're a weekly retro gaming podcast. No corporate sponsors, just us talking about games we like!
While this will be a place for show-related discussion, it's also a place for celebrating, discussing, and sharing stuff about retro games.

This week it's Bomberman 94! It was nice returning to such an early entry to mess around with a more pure Bomberman game. Even the next game int the series really cranked up the craziness dial.
Personally, I'll always take the crazy ones but there's a certain charm to 94.

It's been a couple hundred episodes since we really dug into Tengen! I think the last time was the Nintendo vs Tengen episode (outside of tangential mentions).
Gamers go offline in retro console revival | The Guardian
Rosenau is part of a growing community who are ditching contemporary video games and picking up the consoles from their childhood, or even before their time. And gen Z gamers are following suit, with 24% owning a retro console, according to research by Pringles.
Had these on pre-ordered since 8bitdo announced them because I can't resist translucent electronics. Very much enjoying it over my old Keychron K4, although I am already missing my numpad.
The Xbox button actually opens the game bar in Windows, which is a cute touch.
Just wanted to share my old retro game cart I built several years ago in my old house. I eventually moved to (mostly) emulation for convenience and because the cart didn't get used enough to justify the effort and space that it required. But for a few glorious years there it was pretty cool!
Anyone built out a movable gaming cart like this for your retro stuff?
Anbernic RGP35XXSP on the left sporting MuOS. Fits just fine in my original GBA case!
On the right is my Miyoo Mini+ in a 3D printed hard case (from Etsy) running OnionOS.
The Anbernic is quickly becoming my go-to due to the RTC, which makes Pokemon games easier to enjoy. And being able to just flip the lid shut to sleep and power off after ten minutes is very nice. But I still vastly prefer the UI of OnionOS on the MM+.
