I was riding a neuron scooter down Heaton road today and a woman at a bus stop shouted at me: "You can't ride those on cycle lanes!"
Is that true? Their website states that you can and they are pretty terrible on the road with cars so I just want to double check if I'm missing something...

Hi all,
A few weeks ago we opened a Discord group for dad gamers from Newcastle. We’ve had a bit of traction and now have 35 members - different levels of activity - mainly evenings and weekends.
We also managed to organise a face-to-face beer meetup at The Head of Steam, and we’re planning another one in the next few weeks.
If you're from Newcastle or nearby and would like to join us online or in the pub, let me know and I’ll send you an invite to our Discord channel.
Doesn’t matter if you’re on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch – everyone’s welcome.

Hi all!
I opened a gaming venue and hobby shop in Newcastle, Byker, back in October and we have a great community of gamers. We are called Northern Alliance Games and are in Hoults yard (Links below). I opened to support the local gaming community as there was a shortage of big spaces to play that were accessible and welcoming.
We are open Wednesday - Saturday and 2nd and 4th Sundays.
What we have here:
We are well stocked with terrain for our 16+ 6' x 4' tables. We also have smaller rooms with tables that are great for board gaming and card games, or if you just want to game in a quiet environment. Our 6x4 tables are at a good height for gam

Hey folks!
Just a heads-up that I’m running a Warhammer 40K tournament on Friday 2nd August at my new shop, Red October Games in Newcastle – and it’d be awesome to get some local players involved.
It’s a 2000pt matched play event with 3 games across the day. • Kick-off is at 9:00 AM • Each round is 2.5 hours • We’ll have a 1 hour lunch break • Entry is £15, and you can grab tickets here: www.redoctobergames.com
The venue has food and drink available, so you won’t have to wander off between rounds to find a sandwich or a coffee.
Whether you’re a regular on the tournament scene or just fancy a fun d

I was mortal on the metro and I looked up to see Latin and I thought I’d entered a goddamn parallel universe ffs. I did Classics at uni as well so I know a bit of schoolboy Latin and my brain didn’t figure out anything was wrong for a second. Very trippy experience. Was quite disappointed when I realised I had not, in fact, shifted realities.

absolute longshot, but when i was around 14-15 (around 2019-2020) there was this woman stood i think(?) close to monument holding a free hugs sign . at that point i rpobably looked like one of your average antisocial teenagers, dark hair, eyebrow slit, whatever . i was more alt during that time but obviously i know its more how i came across, maybe slightly intimidating lol. this woman maybe in her 30s was stood holding this free hugs sign and i spotted her from the other side of the street, i was struggling hugely with my mental health at that point to the point especially with going to school due to bullying and my own personal issues and i almost p

Feeling nostalgic. Any old heads on here remember what Kathmandu was like on a weekend in town? God, what a fucking great energy it was at the green as a kid. Minus the occasional egging from the fucking charvers that always used to hang about in the walkway that used to be where you’d get in the back entrance to Boots. And them two Kathmandu shops. What a vibe it was going inside man. Pure sensory overload. And Pet Sounds! Ahhh. Pet fucking Sounds. And wearing a full length leather jacket in the middle of summer. When I was fat as fuck too. Jesus. Lmao still loved every weekend there. Anyone else got any memories they wanna share?

I agree that people should not be leaving cars in local streets but parking at Newcastle airport is so expensive- even dropping people off is expensive if you use the drop-off zone.
Why is everything about profit? Nothing is about customer service anymore.

Yep, you’re right: this is a daft idea.
My name’s Paul.
Once a year, I do a big physical challenge for charity.
This year, cos I’m from Newcastle, I’m gonna attempt to run the length of the Metro in under 24 hours. The total distance is 118km (73.5 miles) - well, if my (admittedly very rudimentary) calculations are correct. I’ll be wearing my Newcastle top the entire time. ⚫ ⚪
So far, my biggest physical charity challenge was cycling from Newcastle to Istanbul over 10 weeks, with my dad (who’s also a Geordie, and a massive legend). During the ride, we raised over £2,500 for Movember.
This time, I’m working with a different charity - but I
