KDE will be at OpenSouthCode in sunny Málaga this weekend! Visit our booth on Friday June 21 from 10am to 7:30pm and on Saturday June 22 from 10am to 2pm:
And on Saturday you can also attend an in depth @kdenlive workshop for beginners at 10am where you will learn all the basics you need to get started in #videoediting using free software.
Currently, if I add a clip which is taller than the project resolution, kdenlive will scale it down so it's all visible and leave black bars at the side. Is there an option so any extra is just trimmed off instead?
I'm sorry if this is something obvious and I haven't spotted it, I'm a complete novice 😅
Edit: I think I've found what I need. The transform effect, and then "adjust to original size".
This is all I need but please let me know if there is a way to make this the default for a project 😁
I'm new to Kdenlive, and I'm trying to use OpenTimelineIO to import a .XML from DaVinci. But I get an error message every time I try File>OpenTimelineIO Import:
undefined
Could not find "otioconvert" script although it is installed through pip3.
Please check the otio scripts are installed in a directory listed in PATH environment variable
Sometimes it prompts me to configure my OpenTimelineIO setup, but then it shows this:

Everything is configured: OpenTimelineIO 0.15.0

I made edits via Kdenlive, reducing the amount of unnecessary pauses and adding one-thirds. On a 29:48 time mark, there is a fun little chapter with AI art, IMO the most demanding part in regards to editing. Kdenlive helps with precise subtitling (I didn't finish them yet).
