kbinDesign @kbin.social HubertManne @kbin.social Am I the only one not able to see my notifications in kbin?
For maybe almost a week now when I click on my notifications I just get an error. I figured I would see something about the bug but since I have not Im wondering if its just my user for some reason.

EDITED - sorry about the multi posting but every posting got me an error. I was in my profile and noticed so deleted the duplicates and added this edit.

kbinDesign @kbin.social rasterweb @kbin.social Notifications? Replies?
If I hover over my name I can select "Notifications" and they there are hundreds (or thousands) of posts. Are any of them replies to comments I've posted? What are they? How can I see/find replies to the comments I have posted.

kbinDesign @kbin.social Hondolor @kbin.social Looking at images on KBin is incredibly inneficient
As things are I have to click on the link, whitch directs you again to the individual post and then you have to click AGAIN to make the image full screen. Thats also IF the image is viewable from KBin at all. Some times you have to click a link to see an image that is posted else where. Minor anoyance but images are a large part of a public forum such as it is.

kbinDesign @kbin.social theinspectorst @kbin.social I'd love it if there was a quicker route to get to an alphabetical list of all the magazines I'm subscribed to
As things stand, I think the fastest way to get there is to click my name, then click Profile, then scroll all the way to the right to Subscribed - and even then the list I get is a) sorted by when I joined (rather than alphabetically) and b) spread over multiple pages when you're subscribed to enough magazines (meaning sometimes further clicking and scrolling is needed).
What that means is that if I want to go to (for example) london@feddit.uk (which is on the second page of my subscribed list), then it takes me 5 clicks and 2 scrolls to get there. Whereas on Reddit, if I wanted to get to r/london, I could do it in 2 clicks and 1 scroll (on the Baconreader app) or 1 click and 1 scroll (on the website - where the list of my subscribed subreddits was already there on the left of the screen).
In the grand scheme of things it's not the biggest problem in the world, but the number of clicks needed to get to smaller magazines (who routinely get crowded off my feed) is proving a UI frustra

kbinDesign @kbin.social QuantumFilament @kbin.social Clicking on a thread title should send you to the linked URL, not the kbin page.
Currently, there does not appear to be any way to get to a linked URL without first opening up the kbin comments page for a thread.
This doubles the work a user has to do in order to reach the linked URL, and also increases the load on kbin since users are loading twice as many kbin pages as they otherwise might.
Each thread listing already has a "Comments" link that brings you to the kbin page for that thread. So the main title should link directly to the linked URL.

kbinDesign @kbin.social Technoguyfication @kbin.social We should be able to click links on other lemmy/kbin instances and open them in our own instance
Not entirely sure how possible this is, but it's a pretty large pitfall I just discovered. If someone links a thread in a comment and I click it, my browser will open the thread in their instance, not mine. Therefore, if I want to interact with the post they linked, I have to copy it, paste it into my instance's search bar, find the same post, and then open it. Unfortunately that's a pretty far cry from the convenience of just clicking a link.
This is something we need to figure out, it shouldn't be too complicated for instances to rewrite links and open the content "locally". The option should also be a user configurable preference, and perhaps have an override method available. For example, hovering over the link will show a context menu with the option to open the post in it's original instance (in the event your instance isn't federated with it or you want to see it in the other instance for whatever reason).

kbinDesign @kbin.social cody @kbin.social kbin Landing Page
Content a little more than usual so a post on microblog will be suitable for its presentation on average.
The minimal version of the landing page, which may or may not replace the current kbin.pub site, is practically ready. All in all I would call it more of a sub-minimal version :)
- The contact form is ready (but not connected to anything because I don't know the requirements or even the destination address :D)
- The instance page is ready (but there is no filtering as there are currently 5 instances active)
- The mobile version is ready (but a few things are lame, e.g. navigating the documentation subpage, because there is no documentation :) )
- no animation (I'm chasing a bit of other tasks :/ but maybe I'll be able to do something about it later)
- The blog is ready (but I forgot the pagination, lol)
The current state can be seen in the video below, , or you can use the code in the repo: [https://codeberg.org/rzeszutek/kbin-landingpage](https://codeberg.org/rzeszutek/kbin
