"Boomer Shooters" are a sub-genre of first-person shooter (FPS) games, known for harking back to the fast-paced, adrenaline-fueled action of 1990s classics like DOOM, Quake, and Duke Nukem. They emphasize run-and-gun gameplay, maze-like level design, and an arsenal of diverse weapons. With little regard for realism, these games prioritize explosive action, non-linear exploration, and often feature fantastical, over-the-top enemies and environments.

Should be compatible with Build Engine Randomizer since we just modify map files, but I don't have a VR headset (yet) to test with.
Also supports Blood, Shadow Warrior, and Powerslave
The Elder Scrolls Morrowind engine is the basis for a new FPS in the style of Deus Ex, System Shock, and a kind of retro Starfield, and it's playable now.

MAYBE now is a good time to try “high on life.”
Humanity is being threatened by an alien cartel who wants to use them as drugs. It’s up to you to rescue and partner with charismatic, talking guns, take down Garmantuous and his gang, and save the world!
After hearing the creator of Rick and Morty was involved with this game I was GOING to recommend:
High on Life is a cosmic adventure game that unfolds on an Earth attacked by the G3 cartel, extraterrestrial beings who exploit humans as drugs. The protagonist, a directionless high school graduate turned space bounty hunter, embarks on a mission to halt the invasion. Alongside the hero are his sentient and vocal weapons known as Gatlians, providing commentary and guidance throughout the journey. The game's interstellar journey spans across various cosmic locations, such as a jungle and a city built on an asteroid's surface, encountering both hostile and neutral characters. The player uses a unique arsenal to combat enemies, including a pistol, rifle, shotgun, knife, and a distinctive grenade launcher that shoots “baby grenades." Alongside battling adversaries, players solve simple puzzles and upgrade equipment in this captivati

Boomer Shooters for iOS
This is a game type that I can find everywhere but in the iOS ecosystem. Got any recommendations?
What are your big three?
What are your three favorite boomer shooters in no particular order?
First, I’d have to thank Warhammer 40K Boltgun for bringing me back to the fold.
Second, I’d thank Doom(2016) for kinda filling in and keeping interest alive.
Third, I’d go back to the first 3D shooter I bought, Heretic.

Chasm: The Rift, also known as Chasm: The Shadow Zone, is a first-person shooter video game developed by Action Forms and published in 1997 by GT Interactive Software, WizardWorks, and Megamedia Corp. Intended to compete with Quake, the game was released after GT Interactive lost publishing rights to Activision. The player embodies an unnamed Marine tasked with thwarting the invasion of the "Timestrikers", mutant beings that threaten different time epochs. The gameplay journey spans various locations, from modern military bases to ancient Pharaonic tombs, typically characterized by dark, catacomb-like corridors. A standout feature of the game was the ability to dismember enemies.
Originating from Ukraine, Chasm: The Rift is recognized as an innovative FPS title from its era and the first Eastern European "boomer shooter". It offers an exhilarat

A Retchid Boomer Shooter
From Beneath Software has announced an exciting new project called Retchid, a fast-paced, atmospheric first-person shooter that seems set to satisfy fans of the third DOOM. The game, which has been closely followed since its announcement at Realm’s Deep 2020, is currently under development with the team working tirelessly to create an engaging and enjoyable gaming experience.
The storyline of Retchid takes place on Titan, one of Saturn’s moons. The Terra Excavation Corporation (TEC), reminiscent of UAC from DOOM, has established a mining facility on Titan. The player's character is sent to resolve a communication issue, only to discover that the facility has been overrun with otherworldly creatures.
The game's campaign will take players through over 20 levels split into three episodes. The environment recalls those of
Grind or perish?
Stepping into the realm of roguelike gaming, PERISH has brilliantly mastered the art of combat mechanics with a unique blend of guns and melee weaponry. Its approach to combat gives players the freedom to pick their playstyle; whether that be a gunslinger or a sword-swinging gladiator, the choice is yours. The game begins modestly, gifting you only a broken sword hilt and a dose of encouragement. Gameplay encompasses advanced mechanics like the ability to block, dash, and kick enemies into a myriad of fatal situations, conjuring a sense of satisfaction as foes meet their end.
Straying from the beaten path, PERISH offers static levels with randomized objectives, adding a novel spin to the usual roguelike formula. Whether you're facing a survival challenge in a confined area, lighting up torches in a test of dexterity, or
