Honestly, I feel that. We're currently playing ER too and are on our way to the DLC and so many attacks feel so weird to dodge away from or into

I tried NG+ for the trophies but kinda didn't have it in me for another playthrough. I liked my time quite a bit, but some of these levels were such a slog to go through. 5-1 can go rot in hell, man

Agreed! It's cool that they're going with the time

Not sure I'd subscribe to that

Judging FS's future by two experimental spin-off titles that they have the luxury of pursuing given Elden Ring's success is a little silly, I think. Sure, it's weird to see this from a company that's been noted for their excellent single-player experiences, but from what I've heard, Miyazaki has been wanting to make a game like Duskbloods for some time now. So why not now when they have the resources and the attention of the general fandom.

Leonard should be riding Radahn's back

Sites of Grace fit really well, true. They're the equivalent of a compass of quest pointer showing you where to go next. But it never feels like the game forces you to go a certain way - it's more of a suggestion

New ER mod: all enemies replaced with Radahn or Consort Radahn

Which "bonfire-equivalent" fits the vibe and flavour of the game they appear in the most?

We all know them, we all love them: bonfires. I mean lamps. Eh, sites of grace. Sculptor's Idol! Whatever...
Which "bonfire" has the best integration into its respective game's lore and world building, though? Can't comment on Dark Souls too much since I haven't really played any of them, but I feel like the lamps in Bloodborne fit the game quite well. They serve as a guiding lamp in the darkness and bleakness that is the world of Bloodborne, shepherding hunters to the Hunter's Dream, to safety.
Which is your pick?

Laxasia NG+ Fight (End Game, No Commentary) by me :)

First time I recorded myself fighting a boss from start to finish. This is NG+ with the Two Dragons Sword after many, many tries failing miserably in phase 2, sometimes getting very close to beating her. It's by no means a clean fight and I did luck out in the end due to good attack RNG by her, but it still felt good to finally get this done
Edit: Throughout phase 2, I kept trying to use the special parry of Two Dragons Sword, but I was too scared of losing health unnecessarily and wanted to be done with the fight lol

Have you played Lies of P or Khazan yet? If so, Sekiro should be right up your alley. The game sports quite a difficult learning curve since it's so vastly different in combat flow and gameplay compared to classic soulslikes, but it's one of the influences for LoP and Khazan, I imagine.
Absolutely my favourite soulslike and my favourite game of all time. Took me three separate attempts to finally get into the game, but it was oh so worth it.

Yea if the recent 10th anniversary's celebration, or rather lack thereof, is any proof, we're not getting any new Bloodborne content any time soon.
A simple patch for 60 FPS would, in all likelihood, be all players really want, but from what I've heard, the entire game was programmed around the 30 FPS in the game, making is quite difficult to just bump up the frames. An unofficial community-created patch does exist, however, and is playable on jailbroken PS4/5 and is available for the emulated version as well, so it can't be that difficult for a Sony-backed FromSoft.
Maybe for the 20th anniversary we'll get something in time for PS8 🤡

I was just gonna say that you could try emulating the game if your PC is good enough
I shall :D

Was the second half of DS1 really as bad as people claim it is?

Most people agree on the second half of DS1 being rushed and quite bad compared to the iconic status of the first half of the game. Did you find it as bad though? I've not played DS1 till the end myself, so I can't tell. From what I've heard and seen on YouTube as well as judging by From's self-assessment, the second half was a little rushed, thus leading to the drop in quality. Is that true?

What's a FromSoft game you haven't played yet but would like to in the future? Why?

I've still got a couple to clear off my backlog.
I've finished Bloodborne and Sekiro multiple times, have finished Demon's Souls once, and we're on our second playthrough of Elden Ring. I have not really played any of the Dark Souls, however.
DS1 was actually the first one I've ever played after watching PewDiePie play the game (holy shit, this was ages ago). I didn't really get the game and I didn't know what a soulslike is yet, so I dropped the game quite quickly after killing the Taurus Demon.
Fast forward to a couple years ago, I bought the DS collection for PS4 and started a playthrough of DS1 and DS3 which I've both played a couple hours of but then dropped again because I preferred the other FS games.
I would really like to play DS2 sometime soon, however. I want to know if the game is really as bad as people make it out to be or if it's just hyperbole.

Is there a way to return to chapter 1 stargazers (Trinity Door) after locking yourself out?
Edit: So turns out, you don't have to open all the Sanctums there are - just a couple mandatory ones. I managed to get another call with Arlecchino on the Grand Exhibition phone where he asks you if you're a murderer. You can answer whichever way you want and you'll get a box containing the key needed to open to the door to his hideout. Other phones might work too, so just check another phone that is not inaccessible.
Might be a long shot, but I'll make a post anyway. So after progressing through the story enough, you end up back at the beginning of the game at Krat Central Station. You then progress through this area until you come back to the Hotel and continue in Relic of Trismegistus area, thus locking yourself out of the area.
Now, to be able to get the final key needed to get access to the room where Arlecchino is held in the Arche Abbey, you apparently need to have found all the prior Trinity Keys and have opened all their respective Sanctums. One such Sanctum is next to the

I'd wager most video game companies don't

Nail polish remover here 💅🏻 apart from the track pad not working anymore, it seems to have staved off most expected damage. Well, apart from a giant white stain across the entire keyboard, that is
Time to kill? Looking for background noise while cooking or sleeping? I've got a couple soulslike videos for you!

Sure thing - glad to help :)

Cauliflower soup. It tastes amazing to me, but it really does smell like farts

There's a demo for Khazan on the US PS Store for sure though, isn't there?

Or am I missing something?
And yea, for sure. It's awesome that there finally are demos for games on PS5. I'd use them on the 3DS and PS4 quite often, and it helped decide which are games are worth picking up.
Yea I was in the same boat as you. The demo was convincing enough for me to get the game, in the end. Quite surprised at that too because I was a little turned off by the demo at first. Just didn't really vibe it too much. Maybe watch some gameplay and see if it's up your alley?

On PS5, there's a demo that costs 25 cents - probably because Germany is pretty strict about giving free access to 16+ games on consoles. That's why Warframe is 25 cents too instead of being free.
I think the other major platforms should have a demo too

I can imagine it's rewarding - sounds cool!
Maybe your notes would be worth a post here sometime? Sounds pretty cool

I've been convinced

Gave the demo another shot after a short on YT by Video Game Closet (awesome channel - definitely check them out) and honestly:I liked it quite a bit! The story seemed a little generic so far, but who plays soulslikes for their story anyways, right? I liked the idea of skill trees for the different weapon types, some changes to the combat added a nice freshness which I kinda miss in From's games, and yeaa kinda went two days straight thinking about buying the game, so I did. :D
Looking forward to my time with it!

💀

Are you used to taking notes in video games? I feel like it's kind of a relic of the past where you had to take notes because information about games was few and far between and usually reserved to magazines and stuff, so I haven't had to take notes ever. I think it could be quite rewarding if you're patient enough

We're currently on our second playthrough where we're playing as a secret daughter of Marika who's been shunned by the Erdtree and their followers, so now we're on a revenge path against the Erdtree to reclaim our rightful place on the throne - my SO really put a lot of effort into her back story - and as part of the playthrough, we're doing all kinds of side quests and content that we haven't seen before for all the unique character interactions we've missed the first time around. The amount of steps and quests and secret items needed for each one of them is honestly so baffling and convoluted, how would any sane being ever find anything of this on their own without using any guides and not being someone like Zully or Vaati. Holy shit

I agree to an extent. I like this style of storytelling just like the next souls enjoyer but sometimes it's a little too obtuse and convoluted for my taste. I feel like Sekiro struck a good balance between showing some actual story and plot and also leaving some storybeats up for interpretation. Be it because of things purposefully left unmentioned or because of background lore that's not essential to the plot but is there to enrich the world building.
Elden Ring is just too convoluted for me personally, for example. There's 10 mainline characters whose names sounds absolutely alike - Godrick, Godfrey, Godroy, Morgot, whatever - and the plot is as vague as ever. I know most of the plot by now, but I haven't watched a big lore video by someone like Vaati to explain it all and wrap it up in a tight package.
Sometimes, you just want to experience story without needing to resort to outside sources to get a grasp of what's happening.
