usernames are hard

  • I get the same feeling sometimes, but only when I posted something that I know could be going against the general opinion. Otherwise I'm happy to see the number go up

  • Been following this project closely for a while so I may be a little biased but I think the browser is pretty charming. And although there aren't many differences with Ungoogled Chromium (or atleast yet) the few ones they have make me think it has some potential to be extremely attractive for normies, like pre-installed uBlock.

That said, its marketing is pretty misleading. I seriously want to believe they have good intentions, but:

    Best privacy by default

... is just not true. Sure, the browser itself doesn't collect any data but it also isn't hardened to try to avoid fingerprinting. Also the supposed "privacy" comes from UC.

    unbiased ad-blocking

The wording is awkward but they mean not whitelisting certain ads, like Brave's adblock does.

    No bloat and no-noise

    Ehh, it's just chromium.

Buut either way I think this is the correct way to make a browser, specially for normies. Your average person is not going to bother with installing an ad-blocker, that's why Brave got popular in the first place. I'm confident that it'll get far, but again, if you know what you're doing there's not much point to it.

  • Goo goo ga ga

  • I hope so

  • I'm a big fan of the word 'calc'. It's short for calculator by the way, I'm just using slang. Oh by the way if anyone's new to the stream, calc is short for calculator. I'm just using slang.

  • Yes I definitely do believe that LLMs are very close to a reverse engineering of the human brain and that human brains work based on language

  • To show the current time, duh /s

  • I used to believe when I was younger (thankfully stopped believing relatively early on) and in retrospect... yeah, it's so fucking obvious that no god exists.

This post is so true. The only source is a book, literally nothing else. What makes it trustworthy? The fact that it's thousands of years old and is still relevant? And literally nothing else? Also ignoring the obvious that any god existing is dumb as hell, if you just think about it for longer than two seconds. It's a made-up human thing which is why there's so many of them.

Also there's many religions out there and, since they contradict each other, I'm supposed to only believe in one, which then I will trust with my life. But what is it that makes this one special? Why not believe in some other one? They all got the same amount of proof (0), and really the only reason I would pick one is my geographical location. Because some very powerful people, hundreds of years ago, decided to spread christianity in the then newfound continent in which I currently live and that's pretty much it. Powerful people spreading it doesn't make it any more true whatsoever, what if the only real religion is some extinct one from thousands of years ago and with a total all-time following of 100 people? How would I know? Either way I think all religions are dumb as heck

It's all just a big "Trust me bro". Perhaps some of the biggest lies in history...
