  • I haven't played Monark, but the developer of VARLET is Aquria. They have done Crymachina and The Caligula Effect. Furyu is just the publisher of that game. Monark was published by Furyu as well but developed by Lancarse.

    VARLET - Announce Trailer

  • I kind of want that mask of the collector box beside my mask of ghost of tsushima. But don't want to spend to much....arg....

  • Wow, excited to play it tomorrow

  • But the earlier press material was done before they had GungHo as publisher. GungHo is the one, that said to do a new localization. But could still be marketing speak

  • But he is kinda right. To be fair, i never played the dangan ronpa games, just watched the anime. But it give me dangan ronpa vibes und the artstyle reminds me of ot as well.

  • I think, since a lot japanese people own a switch, but not pc or playstation console. Such people would be the target audience of that. Not everyone has multiple consoles or systems, some only one from nintendo.

I guess you have the game sizes from steam, playstation's game versions are smaller. I would imagine the nintendo version is even smaller. Cyberpunkt is inside a 64GB Cardrige, so for sure smaller than 100GB. And the SD-card are noch proprietary, they just the fastest one currently on the market that got support, every express sd card should work. They will be cheaper and bigger with time as well.

  • That physical versions of Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games will include the original Nintendo Switch game and its upgrade pack all on the same game card (i.e. they are exclusively Nintendo Switch 2 game cards, with no download code). Alternatively, some publishers may release Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games as download codes in physical packaging, with no game card.

I think this statement is not really clear. There is no text about download, we now the original game is on the card. But does upgrade pack mean the updated data is on the card of only the key to get the upgrade pack. Because if have read different things from different sources. The source from this article as well, but still thing this statement is not clear enough.

  • Ohh i'm happy about this. I really really like this anime.

  • Thanks, i add Trails. And i agree, besides the switch 2 news, there isn't happening much the last few months. I sometimes find new indie i wasn't aware of but that's it. Former E3 time, now summer game fest, will probably reveal a few more jrpg's to us.

This list may not be complete and release date or platform of games may be subject to change. I have also tried to assign games as jrpg according to my own judgement. Please let me know if you think a game is missing from this list.

Since the switch 2 is new i add a short summary of already anouced games for that platform. ::: spoiler switch 2 confirmed games summary

  • i guess that's my bad english. Have mixed up the word with something else

  • That's just new, this grafic is not official and was created by someone just watching the trailer of the direct. In treehouse we could see that one page of characters has 12 places and there were 7 pages. So the basegame should have between 73 and 84 characters. update: i kinda thinkg that sound to much, haven't see them scrolling to pages in treehouse

  • the rooster is quite wild. In this image are not all, but quite a few new.

  • It's probably not for every game, we don't know that exactly right now. See this screenshot.

  • Xbox will always be compared to playstation. And playstation took the opportunity to show the benefits of real physical media. Some features from xbox sound good, but it was for sure at the wrong time to do that. Also Xbox show to much how good it is to watch tv on a xbox. Marketing failed so much from microsoft at that time.

  • Wow That's bad. I add that to the post thx.

  • i was kinda bored of the switch 2 announcement in regards of jrpg, so didn't want to post something. But if i have to choose a game it would probably this. I kinda like the artstyle of the Bravely games, but not really the graphic.

  • I think like that as well. Microsoft told us as well inbetween one year would be the release and it was wrong.

Nintendo makes physical games more expensive than digital games

    Update thanks to thethatfox:

Physical game cards may also not actually contain the game:

Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Card Overview

Game-key cards are different from regular game cards, because they don’t contain the full game data. Instead, the game-key card is your "key" to downloading the full game to your system via the internet.

Update 2: There is probably a difference in Game-key cards and card that contain real game data. So we don't know right now how often these game-key cards are used or if nintendo is using them.

Probably something more dev should do. We are mostly oversea, but i guess a lot here like the way typical japanese games are made.

I just want a good Pokemon TCG service

If you have missed it, Creature Inc and Dena has released TCG Pocket, a new TCG app that is designed like a typical gacha game, you pull 5 cards every 12h or you could pay. I think the app and especially the new card design look good. I think it's a nice app for the crowd, casual collect some of the cards. Sadly the battle system got changed, and doesn't got better. They rediced the amount of points required to win for shorter battles and changed the energy System. I think it's balanced quite bad, but even worse, it's not the oroginal TCG game people play in tournaments.

I comparison there is TCG live, a horrible buggy app that is available for Windows, mac, Android and IOS. So has a better compability to different Systems, which is good. Opening that service, i just think it's confusing, how do you get cards, you already have a lot pre build decks and i guess you get cards by playing with the battle pass. But i think at least, you play the real TCG game, with original rules.

    I don't

Do you buy your game physical or digital?

Pushsqure has postet an articel with the ratio of game bought pysical or digital this year. The ratio goes up for digital games. I'm still buy most of my games pysical, but what do you prefer.

I like that i'm able to resell, rent games and i have a bigger market for discouts in pysical games. I guess the biggest advantage if digital games it's how easy it is to obtain them and you don't have to stand up switching games. Not surprised that the games sold on the Switch have a much higher ratio of pysical games, there is just not enough memory on the system.

    US

    • PS5: 78% digital, 22% pysical
    • XBS: 91% digital, 9% pysical (no gamepass included)
    • NS: 53% digital, 47% pysical

    EU

    • PS5: 68% digital, 32% pysical
    • XBS: 81% digital, 19% pysical
    • NS: 35% digital, 65% pysical
