Area 51
Fine details blur less, or at least more slowly, with ink around them. So might be a good idea to have a halo of white or some other color around the letters, or perhaps have them all in a tasteful frame of a more subdued color. I also agree with the other comment that you may want to save up to have an experienced artist do the piece; a more practiced hand will get the lines crisper and do less damage, which will help them stay better longer.
I would think it should be in the boot log, but I am unsure on that one.
Sounds like that shutdown the system, so the problem is just getting it to power off. You could try "halt -p”. That explicitly calls for the system to power off. If that doesn't work, perhaps try "halt -verbose", which will give a bunch of info on the next boot about what halt was doing, might show an error there that could you lead you in the right direction.
Did you use any arguments with shutdown? Does shutdown spin down the system, but not turn off the hardware, or does it not do anything? You can try " shutdown now -h". That should halt the system after a graceful shutdown.

That one is probably a major worker. They use their big mandibles to break seeds and cut stuff up for the minor workers, who have smaller heads, to transport back to the nest.
Cyberpunk. Lots to do, and ostensibly all the other video games in VR.
Very nice. I have a similar project languishing on my poor, ignored workbench. You may have inspired me to change that. Good typing to you!
I am enjoying it a great deal. However, I did not play any of the previous iterations, so there is plenty of novelty for me. The trap mechanics are fun, and the Threads add some variety to specific runs, even though there are not that many maps at the moment. I have not had any technical issues, and playing in a friend-from-across-the-pond's lobby worked well.
Unfortunately the environmental impact depends on the processing used. The cheapest and easiest version is unfortunately chemically intensive and basically the same way they make rayon. There are other options, but then the price goes up. So extra due diligence is required if you are concerned about the impact of your bamboo clothes.
A friend convinced me to try out Orcs Must Die: Deathtrap. I get to play a snarky, dual wielding, bipedal cat. Silly and entertaining. Thought about grabbing the new Spiderman game on PC, but I think I am gonna wait for a couple of patches given the reviews. Have fun!

Do you have Fluid Motion or some sort of frame fill/smoothing turned on? My understanding is that the in game counter would not detect the extra frames generated by Adrenaline.
I think folks would rather know. If it's a split group, you could tailor the invites to mention that it's also the other kid's birthday, but they have their own group of friends coming with gifts.
Can I preserve this binder clip?
Maybe a couple of coats of slightly thinned clear nail polish?
That's the hay loft. Probably more so on older barns, but that's where the term is from.
Cat scratching post (cottonwood) -- sanded top smooth to remove chainsaw marks -- what to seal with?
If you are gonna let your cat mess with it, I would go with a food safe style finish you would use on cutting boards or the like. Might have to reapply occasionally, but better than running the risk of the cat chipping off and ingesting a more permanent type of finish.
You probably don't need to add holes to the shelves. There are pegs that go into the adjustable holes that are flattened on one side, and the shelf just rests on them. Should be able to get a set of universal ones from the hardware store for pretty cheap if the originals are missing.
